More chat than book

Professional narration would have been a big plus. Feels more like chatty lecture than audiobook.

Best Goal Setting Book!

Any additional comments?

I am not an athlete, but now I know how to think and perform like a champion! This was the best goal setting book I have ever read. Dr. Stankovick gave excellent tools, tips, and techniques that really help me own my game. From this book, I learn to how to be mentally stronger, set actionable goals, get and stay in the zone, and perform at my highest level in my career.

Filled with valuable substantive content...

This is really a high quality audio book with tons of valuable material. This is relevant to any sport. I'm currently carefully working through this audio book for my sport which is competitive racquetball. Covers practical advice for "staying in the zone", "maintaining focus", and appreciating the many dimensions associated with getting your "mental game" correct. I have a PhD in Experimental Psychology and
my research area is Cognitive Science and Mathematical Models of Behavior as well as an athlete
and I feel these lectures have real valuable practical content which is anchored in good science.

Useful information and techniques

Good, useful information I would apply for my athletes when coaching. As an athlete I would definitely recommend this book.

One of the Best Mental Management Books

Would you consider the audio edition of Own the Game to be better than the print version?

I am a Professional Archer and have listened to many Mental Management Books.. In my first Competition as a Pro, I CHOKED.. I feel with this book that I can overcome myself and the type of thinking that caused me to fail

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

OMG. Audible - can I get my money back

1) I am (amenities aside) a very good skier
2) and very interested in the burgeoning breakthroughs in mental training -
especially as it relates to movement skills (read the body has a mind of
its own.
3) So took a chance with "Own the Game" ... what a misplaced bet.
The book is an unembarrassed pitch by the author for his line of something.
And it's focus is the Dare to Be Great bs .. e.g., zoning is feeling good
about yourself and down from there. It's presentation is anecdotal and pandering in the worst of the southern California obsession with personal feelings of value. Again, Audible - can I get my money back
