Publisher's summary

When Robert Frost was a child, his family thought he would grow up to be a baseball player. Instead, he became a poet. His life on a farm in New Hampshire inspired him to write "poetry that talked", and today he is famous for his vivid descriptions of the rural life he loved so much. There was a time when Frost had to struggle to get his poetry published.

Told from the point of view of Lesley, Robert Frost's oldest daughter, this is the story of how a lover of language found his voice.

Beautiful Introduction to Metaphor PLUS...

This biography of Robert Frost told in poetic prose with excerpts from Frost’s own poems from the perspective of his eldest daughter, is a beautiful introduction to metaphor for children. It also describes a great example of Classical/Charlotte Mason type homeschooling. Although a picture book & not a how-to book, it also serves as a great audible book we can listen to over & over to glean all the wonderfully described nature & language studies. I love this introductory biography and now wish to know more of the family’s story.

You will not regret this purchase.

An utterly enchanting, yet down to earth story about raising the Frost family, as told by the oldest daughter.
