Publisher's summary

Liza Beaumont knew she was playing with fire when she let smoke jumper Conner Young into her life. Just friends, she promised herself, but she couldn't help but fall for the tall, blond firefighter who needed her. But loving him got her burned, and she's not about to risk her heart again.

Conner Young knows he blew his one chance with Liza. His personal losses - and his profession - made him wary of offering any promises he couldn't be sure he'd live to keep. So he let her walk away, but he never forgot the place she'd held in his heart.

Liza is attacked in the mountains by a rogue grizzly. Her panicked phone call alerts Conner to everything he lost - and still wants. Now, with a teenage girl missing in the woods, and a predator on the loose, Conner and Liza must fight against time and the elements to save her. But when the old friendship ignites into fresh sparks, are they setting themselves up to get burned again? And when disaster happens, will their nightmares pull them apart, or will they find the courage to survive?

Retired English Marm

How Susan managed to mesh 5 series together (The Nobles, Christiansens, Montana Fire, Montana Rescue, and Team Hope) in one book amazes me. However, I am happy that Conner (the last of the SAR team to find his "happy ending") has not been left behind. He's one of my favorite characters, a bit complex, but still, a hero with a warm heart. So, can we expect a story based on Tucker?

Pronunciation

I wish the narrator’s would learn the pronunciation of certain works. Cannula, kootenai, etc. other than that very good.

Wonderful Story! Wonderful Narration!

Would you consider the audio edition of Playing with Fire to be better than the print version?

Well, equally as good because both are great! The narrator did an amazing job with this story.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Both Connor and Liza. They just had so much to struggle through. Maybe Liza is slightly more my favorite.

Which character – as performed by Janeta Holzner – was your favorite?

She did great with all of them, but I loved the way she read Connor's part.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Can he promise her tomorrow?

Too preachy

Some of her other books are okay as far as religion goes but not this one. DNF

Too much

I am not a prude but too graphic in details like he tasted of coffee and sweat. Ugh. Story line was good but I don’t like when there is no ending unless you buy the next book.
