Fun story, entertaining narration
I like fan content like this - it was a creative little narrative with some entertaining headcanon. as for the narration, I liked it well enough. You can tell they really cared. Blue kinda sounds like the Canadians in South Park. I couldn't unhear it once I noticed. kept expecting him to say "Buddy" at the end of his lines. This isn't a complaint - just a funny observation.

Pokemon Comes to Life!
Jack Voraces' narration of Daystar Eld's Pokemon fanfic is absolutely fantastic! I stumbled across this not knowing what to expect, and quickly realized its not a typical podcast. Although this is in the podcast section of Audible, it is a reading of a fan fiction story broken down into chapters that have been released as episodes. My review is just as much for the story as it is for the narrator. I'll start with the story. The story brings Pokemon and real life together into a realistic feeling sci-fi/fantasy fan fiction. There is so much to love about Pokemon. As a kid I could easily suspend reality to just enjoy the story. I didnt worry about the how and the why of the show/games But as an adult I have often wished that there was a variation of Pokemon that was more rational, with understandable rules and explanations of the various elements of the show. This story does exactly that. It brings Pokemon to life by imaginatively tying in scientific elements of biology, physics, technology and more. In this story, Pokemon can and do exist and there are realistic explanations for Pokemon physiology and behavior, as well as sci-fi-like charcteristics to the technology (e.g. pokedex and pokeballs). The characters in the story live with Pokemon all around them and they have developed a complex and nuanced culture and society. The story allows the charcters to learn on their journey, and gradually reveals to the reader imaginative and complex explanations for seemingly simplistic things, such as why Charmander's tail is constantly alight with flames. The story gives the reader much the same light and innocent feeling as you get when watching/playing the show/game, but it also transcends that simplicity by introducing more mature elements such as real danger and conflict. In this re-casting of the world of Pokemon, humans can actually be seriously harmed by and even killed by wild Pokemon. The characters are also subject to real-world constraints such as time, money and distance. This gives the story so much more depth, and makes the adventures more intereting and engaging because the stakes are higher. It also allows the characters to develop more complex motivations and behaviors. Even with some of these more mature elements though, I would say this is still appropriate for children about 10 years old and up. The story very elegantly balances the innocent feel of the actual Pokemon games/show with more mature and intellectual elements. It is impressively well done.
As for this reading/narration of the story, it is truely outstanding. I really liked the different voices, the pace, and the emotion that the narrator conveys - he makes you feel like you are really living in the world of Pokemon. I can't wait for more chapters to be released!

Great start
Surprisingly good; despite seemingly going with the traditional setup (Red and Blue getting their first Pokemon from Oak) the story quickly gives a subtly different framing, with Red as an aspiring Pokemon researcher and Blue focused on battles, and throws Leaf in for good measure. the best thing about it is the subtle details that Pokemon experts will appreciate (the author clearly knows the world, e.g. in Red countering Blue's theory that Grass types aren't weak to poison by pointing out most Kanto grass Pokemon adapted to the region with a secondary poison typing) and that flesh out the world to be a bit more organic and believable, such as what happens if you lose a pokeball with its Pokemon in it, or the history of Pallet town. The narrator goes all out with the voices (Blue is hilariously and weirdly Irish somehow, and Red comes off quite nerdy - aside from these oddities it's well done with proper energy). Look forward to more.

perfect pokemon story set in Kanto (where every good pokemom story takes place) with the best pokemon (the OG 150) and not ruining it with the weird new ones
