About this listen

Three strikes and you're out? If only.

In my world, it's more of a one-and-done situation, even if you get that one strike trying to do something good. I've been on the run for years, never staying anywhere too long, never getting attached to anything or anyone because he will always find me.

Bane.

He's the best bounty hunter in existence, and I'm the one that got away, well, keeps getting away. If he wasn't so sexy I would hate him for it.

When the cat-and-mouse game turns more serious, I'm the one that ends up screwed, and not in the fun way. I won't survive in prison - not because I'm too delicate - but because my magic has always been tightly under control. Prison, though? When I'm surrounded by sexy shifters and drool-worthy vampires? That's where it will all get unleashed.

Contains mature themes.

Didn't realize this was a RH from the summary

It would be great if there was a RH warning in the summary. Maybe I should have figured it out but I didn't until I was too invested in the story to not finish. The premise is an interesting one. Female
narrator was not my favorite. She is sort of robotic. I actually found the book doing a search for titles narrated by Troy Duran. He's my all time favorite and didn't disappoint. I just really don't like RH stories and wish there had been a warning. Glad it was free.

Borderline

I got this audio book for Troys narration. great as always however I struggled to enjoy the other narrator. Very choppy and like the sentence is done when there is more still. other than that its a fair book. MFC never saves herself, forgives the guy quickly and doesnt eat, loses blood and tgrows up for 3 days yet she is still fine.

Surprisingly good and more mature than the cover art suggests.

Not your high school paranormal read. That’s a good thing too! Story is very good at building a scene and relationships and then some! Will read entire series!

I'm Hooked

Love all the characters, still watching the story develop but it intrigues me. Narration is wonderful.

Amazing

This is the third time I’ve listened to the book and I fall in love with it every time. Definitely one of my favorites.

Great start

I really like the world created here. The tension - both plot wise and sexual - builds at a nice pace while the reader gets to know the characters. By the end I had a good sense of who they were and how they fit together. I’ll be interested in how the series proceeds.
Since I listened to this book, that is where I found the most complaints. The female narrator sounds like a bad imitation of Mae West - and Mae West was as annoying enough.

truly a breath of fresh air

every other Urban Fantasy book is the exact same. every once in a while I run into one that is different, and that's this one. This author didn't copy everyone else's books. I'm absolutely loving these books and I listen to books 24/7, even when I'm sleeping so I've listened to a lot of books. for me to say a book is good, it actually is. for me to say a book is different, it actually is.

I've only got about 300 more books in the paranormal genre I haven't listened to so it was nice giving this a chance for it to be the complete opposite of what I expected.

Please re-do the female narrator

Story is good. Troy is alway fantastic. But holy smokes Captain Kirk’s daughter got a hold of a microphone. I swear the speech mannerisms is the same!! I know recording books are expensive. But, when you have a someone like Troy Duran on cast. You need someone that can at least hold a candle to his flame.
I’m sorry, but listening to Stephanie was like listening to Alexa narrate.
The authors would do themselves and their series a favor and re-casting and recording the female narrator.
This is a great story that is being dragged down by a bad narrator. There are so many fantastic women narrators that can do a better job and not sound like William Shatner wanna be.

Could not finish

Up to Ch 6 and this story has just been a series of hook ups with no story line and no point so far. Implausible interactions. Badly written. Finally gave up.

Horrible female narrator

Usually at 1.6 or 1.7 speed, annoying narrators are more tolerable. Not this one. Female narrator’s voice was so whiney, nasally, and smug that it was unenjoyable. I’m only on chapter three and have dubbed this book DNF. Too bad because Troy Duran is my absolute favorite. Wish he narrated the whole thing.
