Publisher's summary

The publication of Power vs. Force by Sir David R. Hawkins, M.D., Ph.D., reveals to the general public secret information heretofore only shared by the author with certain Nobelists and world leaders.

Analyzing the basic nature of human thought and consciousness itself, the author makes available to everyone the key to penetrating the last barrier to the advancement of civilization and science and resolving the most crucial of all human dilemmas: how to instantly determine the truth or falsehood of any statement or supposed fact.

All human endeavors have the common goal of understanding or influencing human experience. To this end, man has developed numerous descriptive and analytical disciplines: morality, philosophy, psychology, and so on. Regardless of what branch of inquiry one starts from (philosophy, political theory, theology) all avenues of investigation eventually converge at a common meeting point: the quest for an organized understanding of the nature of pure consciousness.

To explain that which is simple can be difficult indeed. Much of this book is devoted to the process of making the simple obvious. If we can understand even one simple thing in depth, we will have greatly expanded our capacity for comprehending the nature of the universe and life itself.

Mind blowing

Authors voice is very grisly so I did have to rewind a number of times. And there were also a number of deep thoughts. Take your time with this

poor verbal performance

Evolution and diction was severely lacking. It don't usually leave critiques such as this, but the performance was enough to deter me from listening at times. I trust the performer will work on improving his craft for future readings.

Spirituality meets measurable phenomena

A window into cognition and what motivates, or demotes, us as conscious beings. This work is the first that made perfect sense to both my spiritual and conscious experience as a human being.

Great book, good audiobook....

This is a really interesting book. Extremely thought-provoking, and has the potential to be life-changing. However, there are 2 things to bear in mind: 1) The rational of the book is based 100% on applied kinesology (i.e. muscle testing). If you don't accept this or have an open mind, the whole premise falls down (I actually tried it as he suggests, and was positively suprised to see that it seems to work); 2) As other reviewers have pointed out, the author does not have a clear speaking voice and has a very monotone presentation. This can make it a struggle to listen to. For me, the first (and most technical chapter) was extremely hard to get through, and then (due to both the easier material and getting used to the voice, I guess) it wasn't much of a problem and I stopped noticing.

Good Message, Poorly delivered

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

David is a good author, but a lousey narrator. Unless its pitch black and there are no visual distractions, David is very, very hard to listen to! Having bought his audio cassett many years ago, if I had looked and seen he was the narrator, I would have never bought the book!

What did you like best about this story?

David provides many fine details about his core subject

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Dr. David R. Hawkins?

The same guy that Bryce Courtney uses. David has the same monotone, no infliction and toneality differences in his voice and a poor narrator

Do you think Power vs. Force needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

It does have a follow up book, An Eye for an Eye, I havent read it as yet

Any additional comments?

David, if you want ot sell more audio books, get someone else to Narrate!

Great Information, Terrible Delivery

Where does Power vs. Force rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

High on information, dead last on delivery. It's grueling to get through as the author is BORING to listen to...It's like listening to a scientific abstract for five hours! The information in it however is very valuable...I would love a rewrite geared towards the layman

What do you think your next listen will be?

Chi Running

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

not so monotone and removed...more case studies and application

What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?

Hopelessness and Helplessness are closer to death and the ranking of energies up to enlightenment

Amazing

Love the author reading the book, some successful authors undermind the power in their own voice, yet again others are too boring : David Hawkins was simply Amazing!!
