These are promises by the maker of all to stand for you and rescue you from all plans of the devil. Your closeness to God does not mean you cannot be tempted to sin, but prayer is a weapon that can be used to defeat the wicked one and prevent him from taking advantage of you.
The battle we face is not a physical one but rather a spiritual one. That is why it is imperative that we consistently pray in the Spirit and seek God's face daily. God has given us the power to destroy snakes, scorpions, and any dangerous thing that the enemy tries to use to rob us of the life God longs for us to have. Therefore, confirming God's hand in your life is paramount, and knowing his words concerning generational curses, bonds, and hateful things holding you captive will enable you to focus and pray with intention.
