Resumen del Editor

I can see everyone's future but my own.

I've lived most of my life as a recluse because leaving my house means being bombarded with visions of the possible futures that exist with every step I take. If that person crosses the road here, they live, but if they go to the traffic lights at the corner, they'll get hit by someone running the red.

It's a curse, and one I do my best to hide from until I'm dragged on a mission to rescue my sister. Not that my assassin sibling needs my help.

What I don't expect is to be hit by a wave of power that throws my ability into overdrive-and threatens my sanity.

Rather than drag my sisters into my nightmare, I enlist the aid of a professor specializing in arcane history. A man I could easily love, but I already know how that ends-with him dying at my feet.

There has to be a way to change the future, but what if my choices bring about the apocalypse?

Contains mature themes.

Loved it!

The story has a lot of action and emotional turmoil mixed with plot twists that make you think twice. The performance was easy to understand and pleasant to listen to.

Fantastic sequel!

I liked this one better than the first. Fast paced and engaging story. Eve really did a great job on this one. I have to finish the story. On to book 3!!!

Quite possibly the most bland characters ever

I typically love this author but this book was painful. I got so irritated with the FC and her constant woe is me, I’m a powerful seer boohoo even though I’m 40 and have been seeing the future since turning 16. You’d think she was young with fresh new seer powers but no. She’s 40. And has been seeing the future since she was 16. I’m sorry but that’s a long ass time to be CONSTANTLY CRYING ABOUT YOUR POWERS. Not only that, but she tries to be so overly good, it’s nauseating.

Enter John (the blandest name ever) and he instantly took over as her protector. He must have a baby play kink because he treated the FC like a delicate new born. Cutting her food, trying to help at his own detriment, washing her clothes. He was constantly coddling her because all she did was cry. Everyone in her vicinity had to treat this 40 year old WOMAN with kid gloves. Could the author not make her, you know, act her age? I’m just so confused by this. Are authors trying to reach a more mature audience by aging up their characters in age only? Then making them all act like your typical teen??? WHY DO THAT!?

The FC has lived with her gift for 40 years, but whenever she had to do anything other than sleeping while John puts a barrier up for her while it drains him, she acts like she never received visions before. At one point, she decided to “be brave” and get fresh air then she starts crying “MONSTEEERRRRRR”. I laughed because it was just honestly so pathetic. But of course she’s powerful whenever the plot needs of it. 🙄 my eye rolling is causing a headache.

So that’s this book in a nutshell. A pathetic 40 year old teenager, who doesn’t know how to wipe her own ass, while she cries and complains about her powerful seer ability that she cries and complains that she doesn’t want, while everyone around coddles her like a delicate flower baby that might fall apart if someone thinks in her direction. Then you got bland name John coming in like a super hero is a cape to take over our delicate baby pathetic 40 year old teenager because she can’t do anything without wining and crying about touching a napkin. Who the fuck knows how she uses the damn toilet or even wipe her ass with toilet paper. The book doesn’t explain that!

For narration - I just never liked Ada. She has a very young preppy voice that has a lisp. She also likes to whisper to try to be “sexy” and I just picture a teenage Disney kid and it’s just wrong. 😑

Honestly this is your typical FC who happens to be older in THIS book, but with the same maturity as all the other FCs you see so much in this fantasy genre. But hey, at least she ain’t a virgin. 😂
