About this listen

“A massive, entertaining tale.” (Ft. Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel)

The Serpentwar rages on!

In Rage of a Demon King - the spellbinding third installment in Raymond E. Feist’s masterful epic fantasy, The Serpentwar Saga - the imperiled realm of Midkemia confronts its most devastating horror, as a nightmare beyond imagining descends upon the war-torn land determined to devour and destroy. A terrible conflict reaches a breathtaking climax - a world-annihilating conflagration that pits serpent against man and magician against demon.

Rage of a Demon King is Feist at his best, solidifying his standing along with Terry Goodkind, George R. R. Martin, and Terry Brooks as the elite creators of epic sword and sorcery fantasy.

Interesting look at existence of life & time

Great story line as usual and interesting look at the existence of life & the universe and time is a construct which we use so everything is not happening all at the same point of reference

Highly recommend the series

Great story, unimpressive narrator

While the majority of the performance is just fine, the mispronunciation of common names is baffling. Luis is not pronounced the same as Louis. And please don’t get me started on his pronunciation of Arutha.

a little holey on the plot

I like this series but there is giant holes with the powerful magicians who do nothing but are supposedly doing something. A thousand times in a thousand different ways they could've ended things but they expend powerful magic to talk or leave armies and friends to die. He made them giants but couldnt get them to fit the puzzle. so he just jammed them in crooked.

One of my favorites

I have had this series for many years both in hard copy and on audible the story of Rue Avery and Eric Von Darkmoore is one of my favorite reads from Mr. Feist’s world of Midkiemia.

great story great narrator.

I'm a big fan of everything Raymond Feist writes, and the narrator is excellent. Annoyingly though he pronounces Arutha as Aruta. I just don't get it. A minor nitpick I know but after listening to a dozen books, all of a sudden the H is silent?

Best One Yet

If you have made it to this review, you’ve obviously finished book 1 and 2. So I’ll get to the point, this book is better than 1 and 2. Carry on!

Banter can sometimes be annoying, but otherwise another great story, performed quite well. Very Enjoyable.

The deeds of demons and men.

Men, magic, monsters, demons and gods. The common thread for all is the persistence of humanity.

I love this narrator, actually...

I think the narrator is quite good actually. I don't have a problem with his pronunciations - it's not what I read originally, but it adds to the world-building. Someone else complained about him doing certain accents while being white...which is absurd because these are fictional characters from fictional places with fictional cultures.

His intonation and timing are fantastic, he clearly understands the scope of what he's reading. Fantastic job, Mr. Joyce.
