You are not alone. Raising a Strong-Willed Child is an essential resource for parents of strong-willed children who want practical and effective strategies that work. This book was written specifically for parents looking for new ways to approach parenting challenges such as defiance, tantrums, and stubbornness, among others.

This book's goal is simple - teach parents how they can be more effective at parenting while still maintaining an empathetic connection with their kids during difficult times. That way, everyone wins, because you'll learn how to see the world through their eyes and give them what they need to thrive.

Mindset matters

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I recommend this book as a starting point for parents who are open to self-reflection.

This book is a helpful listen for parents of spirited children, but like all parenting books, not all material is universally relevant or applicable to every parent or child. This book will, perhaps, be most impactful for parents of neurotypical children, but it also contains insights that parents of neurodivergent children might find valuable.

For me, the key strength of this book is the way it addresses parental mindset. It will either align with your parenting philosophy or give you a guided way to reflect on how your parenting philosophy is working for you and your child(ren). It won't solve the difficulties inherent in raising children or give you a wealth of strategies to tackle common scenarios—but this book does a great job of reframing those challenges.
