1st book by Tillie Cole & ABSOLUTELY NOT THE LAST!! I binge listened to this book ! Could not stop! I growled at my family every time they bothered me & I had to pause it! ALL THE FEELS!! Well written, realistic, detailed, emotional, gut wrenchingly sad, then BEAUTIFUL HEA!!

I surprisingly enjoyed this! Triggering situations

The heroine irritated me at times, but then I had to remember she was a victim of abuse from age 13. The lifestyle became her new normal and this allowed me to remain empathetic to her. I wish she knew how deeply her father loved her, so that she didnt have to experience that. However she was a beautiful soulmate for Raze. Raze's story is sad, will make you very angry. I'm glad he got retribution for himself and his friend 365 . Karmic forces did their work with Alec and his papa. Such cruelty and evil. Not the the faint of heart

I know it dark but also so emotional and beautiful. I wish the whole series could be on screen.

wow!! such an amazing story!!

I loved this story! I couldn't quite tell what it was about from the summery but I knew I liked Russian mob stories so I gave it a shot and wow! it was awesome and intense! If I give a background of the characters it will give away too much, even though you can pretty much figure out who Raze really is from the start, but it's such an original story concept I loved it! my heart broke for Raze and what he went through, but also the female lead (cant spell her name) at first I really didnt like her I thought she was plain stupid for not admitting the monster that alec was, but she grew on me and I began to understand that no one really saw it. by the end I loved her, Raze is a huge powerful killer but also a completely broken man with the mind of a teenager still, she really took care of him and protected him and gave him all the strength she had. The only thing I wish they had addressed more was her trauma and what she went through, but I heard that they are strong characters in the next book so maybe we will see more if them healing together!
also the Male narrator sounds so dramatic at the beginning but then he settles down and it's all dandy. only weird thing is these are all Russians but only some of them have accents? kinda weird and disappointing but again not a big thing!

Awesome Listen

This story kept me on my toes, excellent writing. Kept me guessing! A beautifully dark twist on a love story. Definitely worth the listen. The narrators were perfect, what can I say I have nothing negative to add. Read the whole thing in one shot.

extreme violence, rape and physical/mental abuse

This is story surrounded by the Russian Mob and all that in compasses, so be aware. In spite of that, there is a tender love story at the heart of the plot. This is not a cookie cutter romance and it's not an action-packed thriller, therefore, I'm not sure exactly to label it. I will say that if you are the type of person that can't handle a R rated movie, this isn't the book for you.

I did enjoy this novel but it did fall short of its potential. It was good but not great. The narration is just so so and there were a few areas of the novel that weren't realistic. One example is that just hours after a woman was beaten and brutally raped, she becomes aroused by the sight of another man. I suppose there might be some women who would have that reaction but my guess they would be few and far between.
I am going to go on to the next in the series and decide on book #3 after completing #2.

Repetitively cliché sex scenes

I really didn't care for the main characters. Their back story was interesting, but they didn't seem real to me. They were very two dimensional. And enough with the sex scenes. They dragged on for too long, and were numerous.

Absolutely loved the determination

I loved the story. Difficult obstacles to overcome, the journey was exciting. I cried and sometimes laughed for the main characters. Such an emotional story !

The WEAKEST female EVER!

The would have been so much better if the female lead wasn't so ridiculously weak and just dumb as door nails. It was like she was created to be a victim.
