Publisher's summary

Ren Lewis has the life he's always wanted: the perfect woman and the perfect job as an agent for the Lucidites, fixing problems before they happen. And yet, he's still miserable. He blames the monster buried inside of him for his problems. But what this redheaded Brit doesn't realize is his life is about to be intensely transformed.

Problems that he never could have fathomed begin to surface one at a time until his life quickly spirals out of control. Ren, who has never considered himself quite human, is about to learn just how flawed and vulnerable he really is. There just might be problems he doesn't have answers for, villains he can't defeat alone, and a heart in his chest that is actually capable of breaking. Listeners witness a new side to this man, a side that will make him, if for only an instant, appear human. This powerful genius will meet his match. And she has the ability to do something special. She can break Ren Lewis.

Laugh-out-loud quirky-sarcastic fun

Any additional comments?

Predictable, but laugh-out-loud funny. Quirky-funny. Sarcastic-funny. A truly enjoyable listen. The narration continues to be superb, and the story smoothly follows Ren's life-journey. I loved that this was less about fighting evil and more about growing as a person. I feel like there are a lot of Rens in my life, so I didn't really see him as the sociopath-like character that other reviewers describe. In some ways, he's just the guy who says what everyone else in the room only has the guts to think and not say.

LOVE

Any additional comments?

I just love these books and the dream traveler world. But ren's is the best this poor guy lol I was not expecting what was going to happen. Normally crude assholes make me turn away from a book. But Sarah has a way of drawing you in unwillingly. Even with all the stuff ren is going thought he is still able to battle evil.

Why isn't this on the NY Times Best Selling List?

Ren Lewis, one of the most powerful Lucidites in the world, is about to fall hard....

When we last left Ren, he had just reunited with the love of his life, Dahlia, after 20 years. As Ren and Dahlia settle back into each others lives, Ren receives bad news from the head of the Lucidites Institute and friend Trey. While Ren is trying to process this news and worm his way into a level 5 case that is eluding the agents, BAM! Is it true? And if it is, what will Ren do?

Holy sheep skin! This has to be one of the funniest, and most entertaining books from Noffke to date! Ren has been through a lot in his life, most of it horrible and sad, so when parenthood befalls him, it's pretty hilarious. Ren is approached out of the blue by a young girl that looks oddly familiar to him. Well it's because she is his long lost daughter, the one he never knew existed. Despite the fact that Ren hates everyone, except his father and Dahlia, I wasn't quite sure how he was going to proceed with his young offspring, but I was delightfully surprised on how he did.

While Ren is playing catch up and begins to train his daughter on how to control her powers, Dahlia shows her true colors. We all know what a Diva she is, being a famous Pop Star and all, but really, jealous of a mans own child...petty. The whole story is very endearing, and gives me a deeper look into Ren's heart, and how all he really wants is to not be alone in this world. He loves Dahlia to no end, and cares deeply for his father, but with a child, he's not sure what to do. The girl is bright, just like Ren, and quick witted with the retorts at Ren. I love how they both interact with one another. They are two peas in a pod for sure! I am extremely interested in their future. How the family dynamic will turn out and such. For now, the immediate future is still uncertain. Plus this new threat against Ren and another very powerful Lucidite that has been a very bad monkey! Stay tuned for more action, drama, and certainly comedy!

Narrator Review

Tim Campbell returns! Tim is such an awesome narrator, and fits Ren's character to a “T”. The addition of the new character was no challenge for Tim! Great job with the voices, the acting and above all else, the amazing story telling ability you possess.

must have

Ren Lewis likes his life the way he likes it, no changes, no surprises. But in this book he gets both in a big way. In this world of dangers for dream travelers, this is really a big distraction for Ren to get used to and it just gets worse from there.

If you read or listened to the first Ren Book: Ren Man Behind the Monster you will love this one. Narrator Tim Campbell is back with the audio version. If you are new to the series, well I don't often say this, but this is one series you really should listen too. Tim Campbell makes the most awesome Ren Lewis, think Stewie from Family Guy all grown up. Snarky, narcissistic, funny, genius and awesome.

I'll be sad when this series is over!

I cannot get enough of Ren Lewis... he's not the typical book boyfriend, but that's exactly why I love him. He's rude, arrogant, and very self-confident... but oddly that's the appeal. It's crazy, but goes to show you how excellent of an author Ms. Noffke is when you can love what should be the most repulsive man on earth (if he was real...). With that being said, I enjoyed getting to learn more about Ren, especially through his relationship with his newly discovered daughter. Also the action and intrigue of the the mysterious "Level 5" case is taken to another level (pun intended), as we're introduced to a new villain bringing chaos to humans and dream travelers alike. I cannot wait for the third book to get here - we are not done putting a stop to the new psycho on the scene, and Ren's life is about to get turned upside down... again! I'll be sad when this series is over...

Gotta love Ren!

Would you listen to Ren: God's Little Monster again? Why?

Yes I love the story and the way it is Narrated.

What does Tim Campbell bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He is the embodiment of how I envision is Ren's voice. He does a great job with this series.

Any additional comments?

Ren Book 2 God's little Monster. Oh how I love Ren Lewis!
In the first book we learned a lot about Ren,Mary his mom and his sister Vivian at the end of the book he was reunited with Dahlia after being apart 19yrs.
Book 2 picks up with Ren still grousing about Dahlia's decor in her house they have been sharing for the past three mounts and how he misses his more manly decore.
In book 2 We see Ren still working for the Lucidite's as an agent for the greater good.He stops the Middlings(Humans) from destroying themselves and the world. He can't help but wonder why he is getting stuck with the level One grunt work when he is one of the best and had always taken on the hard level 5 cases. He is board with this caseload and believes it is a waste of his tremendous talents as a Dream Traveler and Mind manipulator as well as his host of other talents.
His Boss Trey ,and perhaps the closest thing to a friend he has, breaks the news of a health issue that has decreased his case levels. Ren was a little upset that Trey had kept this bit of news from him but that was nothing to the surprise he was going to get.
He finds out he had a daughter Adelaide her mother was Shannon Feilds. She went in search of her father hoping he would have answered for her of just what was happening to her. Adelaide has her fathers snarky attitude and dislike for the human race. With Ren teaching her how to control her powers and introducing her to his father for a sense of family.Yet that is not the last nor the biggest surprise Adelaide has for Ren.
Sarah Noffke has created a wonderful series,I just love Ren.Not only are the characters so well rounded but the world is just fantastic. Tim Campbell is the embodiment of Ren and he does a great job with all the characters.

unexpected ending

I really, really enjoyed getting to know Ren. The narrator is the perfect voice to this character. Ren has an unusual outlook for life, in this story he finds out some rather unexpected things about himself. The ending blew me away. I highly recommend this book

You just gotta love Ren

Would you try another book from Sarah Noffke and/or Tim Campbell?

I would absolutely listen to another book by SN and narrated TC.

What could Sarah Noffke have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

The only thing that would make this book any better, is if it was about five hours longer.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

TC performance was absolutely amazing, he is definitely the right narrator to voice the magnificence of Ren.

Did Ren: God's Little Monster inspire you to do anything?

Ren 2 inspired me to want to read more of SN books.

This was even better than the first!

Ren is back! I was introduced to this sarcastic, narcissistic but utterly adorable man last year when I listened to Ren: The Man Behind The Monster. This picks up where the first book left off. Set in the world of Dream Travelers, who have special powers such as mind control, Ren is now living with the love of his life, Dahlia, and working as an agent for the Lucidites preventing mostly Middlings aka regular humans from destroying themselves or others. Life seems pretty settled although Ren being Ren he is naturally grumpy. In particular, with the fact that Trey is only giving him easy cases due to some health issues that have shown up. If that wasn't bad enough, his world is turned completely upside down when somebody new appears in his life. (Trying really hard to avoid spoilers here.) Anyway, the interactions between Ren and this new person in his life, who is equally petulant, are totally hilarious. But there's plenty of suspense as well as a new villain, Vivian, is introduced and it appears Ren may not be as powerful as he has always thought.

I gave the first book in the series five stars. This was even better! The storyline was completely intriguing and the character development great as Ren struggles to adapt to the new developments in his life. It was laugh-out-loud funny, it was really moving in parts and thoroughly gripping and entertaining throughout. And then Sarah Noffke ends it with an almighty cliffhanger. Immediately upon finishing the audio, I had to look up when the next one - and by the looks of it, final one - will be available.

Tim Campbell returns as narrator and as in the previous book, his performance was flawless. He really gets into the character of Ren, bringing him to life perfectly and capturing Ren's arrogance as well as his vulnerable side. Brilliant job with the British accents. The production quality was also excellent.

If you haven't met Ren yet and like abrasive yet lovable characters, I highly recommend starting with Ren: The Man behind The Monster. Once you made his acquaintance, it's difficult to not become addicted to his story and this fantastic series.

Gah!! Be warned! 😱

Gah!! I am beyond glad that I have the next book downloaded!!

What's better than 1 Ren? The addition of a mini-Ren. Lol! ;-) I had actually begun to read Ms. Noffke's 1st book in the Olento series when I realized I was missing a character and some background info. So, lesson to learn… don't skip or miss out on any of her books. Each series is intrinsically woven to each other which I awesome! It kinda reminds me of how many shows are doing shared or crossover episodes. :-)

I'll be honest… I fell in love with Dalia in book 1 and out of love with her here. >.< She sort of redeems herself towards the end but I'm reserving judgment. Dear Adelaide… you're gonna adore this snarky girl. :-D

Great world building, although I'd say better would be expanding of it. Excellent narrator! Honestly, one of my favorites.

The ending has a major cliffhanger. It's soooo good & totally unexpected!

My star ratings include these 5 elements:
1★ story line
1★ engaging characters
1★ use of world building/descriptions
1★ narration or editing
1★ the ending
