This former SEAL will see his mission through, no matter how painful....

When Nash’s best friend, Jesse, is killed on deployment, it’s his responsibility to return his dog tags to his older brother. As an alpha, he’s having a hard time grappling with his failure to save his friend - someone who counted on him. At first, Jahiah doesn’t seem anything like his brother; the omega is struggling to raise his son alone and is practically hanging by a thread. Still, there’s a core of steel to the man that Nash can’t resist. It feels wrong to fall so fast when they’re both grieving, but when Jahiah’s in his arms, it couldn’t be more right.

He needs to do it all on his own....

Jahiah’s too busy to dream about an alpha soldier sweeping him off his feet. Between his job and his delinquent son he can’t afford lose focus. But there’s something about Nash that makes him want more. No alpha could fall for a harried omega with a kid born to cause trouble, but Nash seems determined to prove him wrong.

How can Nash protect his newfound mate from the hardships of the world when the man won’t ask for help? Nash and Jahiah will need to confront their entrenched issues if they’re ever going to survive as a family, but will a fated bond be enough to hold them together or will invisible wounds destroy the foundations of the new life they’re trying to build?

Horrible narrator boring whiney cast

Ok I’ve like all so far but man this narrator makes everyone sound like a creepy grandpA or smoker so bizarre. Also the story drove me nuts boo hoo he wanted to take care of me my life is now so hard lol. Ridiculous

Love the series

I love fallowing the Timberwood cove series. Seeing how the characters develop throughout the story excites me. However I had a hard time listening two Anton rush narrate this book. He made the characters sound like elderly people especially Jaxson. At times Jahiah and his son had the same voice/tone. When the narrator got to the steamy part of the book it was just wrong, it was like listening to an elderly man trying to play two parts (no offense to the elderly, be your beautiful self wrinkles and all). I love this series but I wish they had a different narrator. It will be hard for me to listen to the book again.

The voice acting is just awful

I’ve been listening to this entire series and all of the other narrators have been fantastic. But this one, oh the worst. No character sounds realistic. Characters in their 30s sound like they’re in their 70s. Almost every side character sounds like a gay guy with a heavy gay lisp. I’m struggling through only because I know what’s going on here will impact the next one in the series.

FINALLY!

I am loving this series, but oh my God FINALLY! 5 books of a repeating pattern just with different main characters, before we got more dragon action to move the series along.

My only complaint was the narrator, nice deep voice but made most of the characters either sound older than their respective ages or have a lisp & this odd moment of background sounds between chapters 7 & 8. I feel just his normal speaking voice would have been perfect for the character Greer from Silver Daddy.

Narrator v. Author

I have listen to the audiobooks up to this point on the Timberwood Cove series; and to be honest the story in this book was quite good, but the narrator was horrible. He changed the age of a lot of previous characters and gave characters unnecessary, vocal tendencies. It was extremely disappointing to go from the previous book to this one finding that I can’t even stand the narrator’s voice. Great story though.

Another good one but

The book was good and I loved the continuation of this series. I did hear background noise and sounds in the audio especially in between chapters. And the actors voice seemed older for some characters than they were stated, but he did a really great job in expressing their feelings and the hot scenes!

Dissapointed

I couldn't finish this book. all the recent characters are sounding old and feeble. It runs the other books that I love.

story / narrator mismatch for me

Would I listen to it again: maybe if i needed something soft playing in the background
Did the story keep me engaged: reasonably
Was I invested in the characters: mostly

Story comment: reasonable pace, likeable characters, and an entertaining story.

Narrator comment: Audio-books are all about the narration for me and I'm on the fence with the narration on this one. Anthon Rush has a nice voice, good rhythm and believable inflections. Each character has his/her own voice, but i'm not convinced his interpretation for the voices is the right match for the characters or their personalities in this instance.
That being said, I still listened to it all and still enjoyed it, I just don't think he's nailed the narration on this one.

Two Thumbs UP!

I’ve never offered a review before, but this book grabbed me from the very opening scene, and would not let me go. The story nearly brought me to tears and allowed me to share the struggles and triumphs of both Nash and Jesse. I lost a brother through similar circumstances, so the story and characters really resonated with me. My hat’s off to Anton Rush who molded the characters with such emotion and realism that I could hardly stop listening. I will look forward to more from Liam Kingsley!
