Resumen del Editor

In the second e-novella in Molly Harper’s Bluegrass series of contemporary romances, two people determined to fulfill their own agendas come head to head—and find love in the process.

Kentucky Tourism Commission employee Bonnie Turkle is up Mud Creek without a paddle. When she gets permission from the state historical society to restore McBride’s Music Hall in Mud Creek, Kentucky, to its former glory, she thinks the community will welcome her with open arms. Instead, her plans interfere with a proposal to sell the property to a factory that would bring much-needed jobs to the town.

Even though Bonnie is trying to preserve mayor Will McBride’s family heritage, he is more concerned with the welfare of his people than memories of the past. Will finds her optimistic sentimentality extremely annoying—but that doesn’t stop him from kissing Bonnie senseless.

With an inspection deadline looming and local saboteurs ruining her restoration, Bonnie must find a way to compromise with Will to save McBride’s and the town…while hopefully winning a few more kisses in the process!

Love Molly Harper books

They are light and fun, but I could do with a little less “yelps” and a little more complexity to the female characters. Her books always seem to only characterize about 4-5 different versions of both male and female characters to be honest but they are still really fun to listen to!! Amanda Ronconi really brings the books to life with the voices and the full on performance she seems to give these books!

Reliable Harper

I've listened to several of Harper's books now and they are definitely like comfort food. if you want something reliably light-hearted, witty, and adorable, Harper's books are your go-to. I've begun using them as palate cleansers after books I've disliked.

Harper and Ronconi do it again.

What does Amanda Ronconi bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Ronconi is not only one of the best female narrators but one of the best narrators period. She does an amazing job infusing life into even the smallest roles and her male voices are fantastic. Rhythm and Blues is no different, each character is nuissanced and with Harper's sharp wit will keep you chuckling throughout the whole listen.

Any additional comments?

I would have given 5 stars for story but felt a little let down that it was so short, the character development could have been a bit more elaborated on. This short but sweet listen was full of fun, chuckles and just the right amount of sweetness without being overly saccarhin. Harper and Ronconi are a team made in audio heaven.

Fun and joyful, , like bluegrass!

I love Molly Harper’s funny narrative voice in her romances that don’t feature the paranormal, and Amanda Ronconi is the perfect pairing to perform them!
The storyline isn’t perfectly compelling but that’s not what I read Harper’s books for. The characters are intriguing and fun, and the small town Kentucky location was different and interesting.

Just Okay ....

What did you like best about Rhythm and Bluegrass? What did you like least?

There seemed to be more depth to this book than the other two in the series. My favorite scene was when Wil was trying to save Bonnie's "baby" from her burning car. I liked the way the Bonnie handled herself in the face of opposition.

If you’ve listened to books by Molly Harper before, how does this one compare?

This three book series is the first I've listened to from Molly Harper. Book 2 really can be independent. It isn't reliant on info from the first book, and the 3rd book isn't reliant on info from the 2nd book. After listening to these three, I'm not sure I'd read or listen to anything else from Molly Harper again.

Which character – as performed by Amanda Ronconi – was your favorite?

This series was the first time I heard Amanda. I would like to listen to her reading another author before I make any judgements. Her female characters seem to come across a little sarcastic all the time, it could just be the author's writing style.

Did Rhythm and Bluegrass inspire you to do anything?

Nope!

Any additional comments?

I'd say skip books 1 and 3. If you really want to listen, just go for book 2. Again I'll state these are the first Molly Harper books I've read and I didn't care for the writing style. The characters do not seem to have much depth. The first person writing wore on my nerves after awhile.

The car fire was a hoot.

I loved the first book and have been in the mood for a lighthearted romance lately and this book fits the bill, it was right along the lines of the first book. I loved it, it was funny, heartwarming and even when the heroine and hero were at odds they still were good people. Will was border line douchbaggery but pulls out just short of, but considering what he was trying to do it is a little bit understandable. I totally could be friends with the gang of people around that town. And as usual Amanda Ronconi is a hoot and does sarcasm so well I'm a bit jealous.

Fun but...

Where does Rhythm and Bluegrass rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This was ok but I found the jokes the same ol' same old as in the first book but it was entertaining none the least..

What other book might you compare Rhythm and Bluegrass to and why?

The characters in this book just didn't have the same chemistry as in the first book but it was a good read

What does Amanda Ronconi bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I love Amanda Ronconi 's reading she brings the characters alive in a way that just simply reading the book could not.

Fun but short

So cute as always southern charm and snarky friends. Classic Molly Harper not her best but the people in the story are great.
