Publisher's summary
It's more than six hours of Ricky's rants, Steve Merchant's meanderings and Karl's - well, whatever it is that Karl does.

Story
The plane is jam-packed. Every seat is taken. So of course the flight is delayed! Flight attendant Allegra Patel likes her job—she’s generally happy with her life, even if she can’t figure out why she hooks up with a man she barely speaks to—but today is her twenty-eighth birthday. She can think of plenty of things she’d rather be doing than placating a bunch of grumpy passengers.

Story
Kidnappers grabbed Jenna in broad daylight, right in front of her children and their horrified classmates. Her family was issued an insane ransom demand: $25 million in cash and jewels, payable by the end of the school day, otherwise they’ll never see her again. As Jenna’s mother scrambles to gather the money, detectives Mo Butler and George Ortega follow the trail of the kidnappers, which will lead them through a sordid landscape of jealous lovers, broken dreamers, and twisted schemers. But every second counts, and there’s one thing Jenna Wade doesn’t have: very much time.

Story
For the last 100,000 years, we Sapiens have accumulated enormous power. But despite all our discoveries, inventions, and conquests, we now find ourselves in an existential crisis. The world is on the verge of ecological collapse. Misinformation abounds. And we are rushing headlong into the age of AI—a new information network that threatens to annihilate us. For all that we have accomplished, why are we so self-destructive? Nexus looks through the long lens of human history to consider how the flow of information has shaped us, and our world.

The Karl Pilkington Show
I enjoyed this introductory season of Ricky Gervais' podcast. By the end, you're happy to hear Ricky admitting that it should be called the Karl Pilkington show as Karl ends up doing the lionshare of the talking. Karl's quite the eccentric personality.
I don't want to give too much away, so I'm being purposely vague. It would suffice to say, however, that this season isn't really about Ricky Gervais' comedy, but instead showcases his ability to see what could be entertaining, and his ability to steer it in that direction.

Listen on an empty bladder
There are lulls in the laughs, but that's a good thing because my bladder can only hold so much.
Although it'd be nice if things could be so funny without someone being made fun of, and I sometimes wonder if I shouldn't be feeling sorry for Karl, I'd give my left one to a crazed chimpanzee to get in there with Steve and Rick for a bash at Karl.
I drive to work wishing that I had more than a 30 minute commute and that the first season would last me more than a workweek. I had to get the next seasons just to keep laughing my way into work.
I highly recommend it for those who like to listen to funny people ramble.

Funny if you like the ridiculous
I found this and the other 2 series mostly hilarious, apart from sometimes getting irritated by the way Gervais is so screechingly arrogant. But Karl is wonderful to listen too...far too funny to be for real. His simplistic attitude to life and technology is hilariously refreshing...for example, his assumption that lawyers in the UK wear wigs in court as disguises.
If you don't find humor in the absurd, then Karl's very British attitudes are probably not going to have you laughing out loud. I personally can't get enough ofit, and would gladly pay for many more series!

Very Funny
I actually laughed outloud. Where Ricky and Steve (creator's of the office) found their co-host Carl Pllkington is unclear, I am never sure if he is serious or not, I do know that the three of them having a conversation is one of the funniest things I have heard in a long time. Gervais gets a bit loud at times, and a bit harsh with Carl. Really great stuff...

The BBC gone mad
This program is simple fun at a great price. It's much like listening to your favorite disc jockeys carry on without commercials or songs to interrupt the banter.
Ricky, Steven and Carl report and debate the merits of everything from world news and scientific research to sucking up to program sponsors. "Monkey News" tends to be a favorite topic, including whether a NASA chimp would be plunged into suicidal depression after being replaced by human astronauts. If contemplating such off the wall issues sounds fun, you've come to the right place.
While there are a few explicit terms thrown around, this show is by no means as explicit as a Howard Stern Episode. (Think more of the irreverance of a Monty Python show.) If anything, this program reminds you of the sheer joy of brainstorming, a good argument and solving the world's problems over a cold beer.

Brilliant!! Laugh Out Loud Hilarious!
I don't think I've ever laughed so hard for so long in my entire life! Off the wall and completely mad, Karl Pilkington's unique perspective on various topics is not only mind-boggling, but laugh out loud funny! Silly, ridiculous, and utterly entertaining, the Ricky Gervais Show is brilliant! I was completely won over.
