Publisher's summary

I confess: I hooked up with the Road Kings’ bassist after a show 13 years ago. It was supposed to be just one night—then I’d never see Neal Watts again.

But life likes to throw curveballs, and we ended up with a daughter. We could do this, right? We could stay friends for our daughter’s sake, even though we weren’t a couple.

Thirteen years of friendship. Thirteen years of relying on each other. Thirteen years of Neal in my life, even though we’re never alone together. Because that would be crossing a line.

But suddenly we’re both free to cross any lines we want to. And when Neal gives me that look that melted me all those years ago, I definitely want to.

I could have a wild fling with a rock star, and it would be incredible. But suddenly I’m starting to wonder….

What if we’ve been in love all this time?

3 chili peppers

I do like how the storyline from the 1st book is continued in this book. And how this one started prior to the middle of the previous book. It’s like they run parallel.

Addicted to the Road Kings!

I have been LOVING listening to this rockstar romance series by Julie Kriss- the 2 books published so far have been fantastic and completely addictive. I'll be waiting patiently and saving a few of my Audible credits for Axel and Stone when the time comes for them to have their own stories.

I could have read Duet and Riff, books 1 and 2 of the Road Kings series with my Kindle Unlimited subscription and been perfectly happy, but boy, am I thrilled to have chosen to listen instead. I felt like I was right there with all of these characters wherever they went, like a happy little fly on the wall. Those gorgeous, sexy, silly and loveable men that made up this band and their independent, sassy ladies, had me wrapped around their collective fingers in no time at all.

The narration by both Andi Arndt, with her soft, beautiful, expressive voice and the super sexy smoothness, realistic wit and guy next door charm of Jacob Morgan speaking in my ear was 100% perfection. Their voices were just as entrancing as the story itself and hearing them speak the words drew me deeper into this book, taking Riff to the next level for me.

Julie Kriss has created a group of humble, talented rockstars who knew what they wanted and didn't want out of their lives. They're older now and alot wiser than they were as starry eyed 19 year olds, all those years ago. They loved creating their unique sound and playing live music, but didn't love each other after over 10 years of continual touring and too much excess along the way. Being given a second chance after a 5 year separation, these reunited, lifelong friends were figuring out along the way how to keep their band together without compromising their personal interests and happiness.

With a touching, romantic story, a kick ass phenomenal band performing their songs and music and the kind friends I wish were my own, Julie Kriss has wowed me with her writing style and gained a new forever fan. I've already recommended her to some of my like minded bookish friends who have a thing for imagining the perfect rockstar! There was so much to fall in love with here!!

Hardships of a band on tour & strained relationships

This story overlaps and repeats a bit of the first in the series. It takes us to the end of the tour with a long awaited epiphany and an abrupt HEA. The mystery of the mysterious backer made no sense though. Maybe in the next book. Worth the credit for excellent narration.
