Following his brother’s assassination in 1963, RFK transitioned to a role in the Senate, representing New York. His ability to connect with diverse groups of people—African Americans, Hispanics, working-class whites, and young people—set him apart as a unifying figure during a time of great division in the United States. More great things were likely to come had RFK’s life not been tragically cut short by an assassin’s bullet at age 42. Even so, with his drive and energy, Robert F. Kennedy had already become a major agent of change. This is his life—this is his story.
