Publisher's summary

From USA Today best-selling author Meghan March comes the final sexy stand-alone set in the Beneath world of New Orleans.

I used to believe there were lines in life you don't cross. Don't lie. Don't cheat. Don't steal. Until I learned people don't always practice what they preach.

I turned in my badge and gun and walked away from everything. Then I got the call no one wants, and I'm back in New Orleans.

What I don't expect is for her to be here, too. Another line you don't cross? Don't touch your best friend's little sister. She's always been off-limits.

Too bad I don't follow the rules anymore.

May absolutely be listened to as a stand-alone!

AND IT'S ANOTHER TRIUMPHANT HOME RUN FOR Ms MARCH

If you're already a fan of this awesome series then you really don't need to read any of the glowing reviews.. because you've ALREADY found out what an awesome and talented Author Meghan March is. You've ALREADY been wowed by her detailed dual POV storylines that mix truly epic romances with angst, drama, danger, sex, passion, turmoil, twists and suspense. You've ALREADY drooled over her sexy damaged bad boys who have all found strong loving heroines who bring out their brooding alpha possessive side. You've ALREADY loved and hated her secondary characters who throw spanners or lifelines into her intricately woven works. And you've ALREADY experienced Sebastian and Andi's excellent narration that brought each one of the books in this series to life, added all the necessary emotional feels with every single word they uttered.. and, thanks to their skilled narration, I'm sure you'll all agree that this series is one to enjoy over and over again.

However, if you haven't yet listened to any of Meghan March's multi-layered riveting books in the Beneath series, then you're in for an awesome ride. They're all unique standalones that can be listened to out of order - yet interconnect with family/friends. But I wouldn't suggest starting with this one.. Ariel and Rhett's addictive and intense story is great - but this last book in the series has all the happy couples uniting, wrapping up and reaffirming their love in a very memorable and touching way.

Worth a credit? I think you know what I'm gonna say.. it starts with a Y and ends in S.

I can't believe it's over :( This will always be my favorite Meghan March series because it was my first. I don't want this to be the last one !

I was really excited for Hennessy's book and it was better than I could have ever expected! This book has so much to it! Of course it has love and hot sex but this one has a lot of action and twists and turns.

Hennessy shows off his good guy values while also being a sexy badass. Although I think he will always be a cop at heart! Ari is an amazing character and the perfect heroine for Hennessy. She is a brilliant geeky girl that is bad ass! I loved that so much! She didn't hide it, she did try to be something else, she was just who she was! Great way to end the series and that epilogue was awesome, I loved all the closure <3

Narration was great of course!

Not good. Bad ending to an amazing series

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I can't say who would like it. I'm so disappointed. The rest of the series was so good this was watered down and ridiculous. So far fetched.

Has Beneath the Truth turned you off from other books in this genre?

No

Would you be willing to try another one of Andi Arndt and Sebastian York ’s performances?

Of course. It wasn't their fault the book sucked.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Nope.

Any additional comments?

Yes returning it.

Not the best in series, but okay. 2.5 overall

I liked the story better the second time I listened to it. I’d call it more of a mystery with a little romance rather than a romance with mystery. Very few sexy times.
However, my real issue is with the author and the audio producer’s mistakes.
1. The main character is Ariel, named after The Little Mermaid character by her mom. Yet both narrators pronounced it Ah-re-al, with the accent on the last syllable, not Air-e-el. Sebastian York sometimes said Ah-re-al and sometimes Ah-re-elle.
2. Sebastian York pronounced porte cochere as port caché.
3. The author used the wrong word in several instances, like forbidding instead of foreboding. One sentence in the book regarding Rhett calling someone says “I let it ring till it went straight to voicemail.” Going straight to voicemail implies the phone never rang.
When I pay good money for a book and/or audiobook, I expect the author, publishing company, and audio producers and/or directors to have done their jobs properly. Unfortunately, that seems way too much to ask in this genre.

Solved, mystery = Pain of the truth

**No Spoilers*** I could not wait for Rhett's story Yet, I waited to listen to this book in order to savor the suspense since I knew this was probably the last book in the Beneath series. I will say the unveiling of Beneath the truth did not disappoint. Lots of shockers come out of Hennesay's story. He has been one of my favorite characters in this series. Even though I don't want to give too much away, this book almost felt more like a crime novel than a romance novel. The romance between Rhett and Ari seem like a bit of an after thought to the plot as compared to the other books in the series. The heat lever is quite a bit lower. The love scenes seem rushed and almost feel like they were interfering with the story. Kind of like an action movie that throws in a love scene to try to get some female audience to the movie theater. Still, this was a great book, but I was a bit disappointed in the romance level in this book. I just did not feel as much passion in this story, as with the other books. Even the way Rhett and Ari finally say, I love you is so unemotional and a bit boring. It made me feel like they were an old married couple who have been married for 30 years who did not need to hear those 3 little words anymore. I have seen several romance authors start to get light on the romance and heavier on the back story, pushing their books into another genre. I hope this is not the case with Meghan's future books. the epilogue was fantastic because she wrap up all the other characters reminding the readers of their love story. I defiantly feel that Meghan March is definately bouncing this book into a much darker series with her upcoming book. I only hope she is able to keep the heat volume up for her true romance fans. Since the story was super gripping, and the performance was a 5, I had to give it 5 stars. As far as the love, sex and passion in this book, I would have to only give it a 3.5. This is not a stand alone, you really need to read this book in the order of the series to fully appreciate the characters and the plot.

Last Book of the Beneath Series was okay!

I Loved this Beneath Series, All of them were 4 and 5 stars. The Narration was wonderful except when Sebastian tried to do the Cajun accent. I just started laughing he was so bad at it. Andi Arndt is a ten star narrator always.
This last book of this series was okay. It didn’t knock it out of the park. Many of these books in this series were so good and better than this one.
I have to say I’m falling away from Meghan March a little everytime I read her latest books.
They are all the same with a little bit of a different background. Also they get a little more freakish with her sex-a-pades.
I really don’t like her short books and paying a full credit price as she splits a book in 3 or 4 parts. They are not worth it. I feel she is taking advantage of her readers as she is constantly splitting all these books up now.
The Beneath Series was worth a credit for each book and the stories are good and a decent length.
I like the New Orleans location and all that went with it.

Amazing ending to a GREAT series!

Seriously amazing book! I was sad that this is the last book in the series but Meghan March KILLED IT! The twists and the turns this story blew my mind and I was on the edge of my seat! I loved the sweetness and the passion between Ariel and Rhett. I loved they were old enough and no one else mattered enough anymore to keep them from moving their friendship to more. This story was sweet, sexy, bittersweet, sad, crazy but oh-so-good! This was also a great ending to the series. I loved every minute of this book and I can't recommend it enough! Do you like your women strong and your heroes alpha? Then jump on it!
