Publisher's summary

Leonidas: I am a Dragon Prince of the House of Smoke...and I am cursed. Falling in love was never in the cards for me. An angry witch made sure of that - if I lose my heart, I lose my life. Only now, a treaty guaranteeing peace will die with me, unless I convince some hapless human to fall in love with me and bear my child - a dragonling born of magic and a love that's true. But I know nothing of love. Five hundred years of guarding my heart and opening my bed mean I've got zero chance at this. Yet if I fail, it won't just be my death but countless others.

Rosalyn: My luck has never been good. Being a witch who can't do magic sucks on most days - it's even worse when your mother's cancer can't be cured. But I'll do whatever it takes to turn our luck around, including stealing magic-healing blood from a shifter. Besides, they owe me - a hot-as-sin shifter seduced my mother, got us thrown out of the coven, and ruined my life. One of them can bleed a little to make things right. And a dragon prince with his wacky mating game and blood 10 times more powerful? The perfect mark. My luck might just be turning good after all. Contains mature themes.

Better grab the box of tissues poor Leonidas…

I like this book because you get to see Leonidas, I could always tell from the first three books that there was more to Leonidas than just the Playboy. I think this could be one of my favorites. However I must say that I don't care very much for Rosalynn also I was already annoyed with the way these books cut off in the middle. I don't know if this was a publishing problem or the author was rushed publishing dates are what but ever since reading the first book I absolutely fell in love with the concept the plot the characters but I've always felt that the first three books could've been one book and this one seems to just drop off right in the middle I can't even really call it a cliffhanger it's almost like a deadline was reached in they said here take what I got. That being said the story itself is good enough to make me want to put up with the shortness of the so-called novels personally I think they would do better is to really release them as maybe a complete box collection for the first three and so on that's my only complaint with this when this time is that it just it doesn't seem finish I don't know if they did it to make more money on publishing or what the motivation. I have to say though the narration is much better than the first three books the woman and did the first three books drove me absolutely up the wall because she didn't sound like she was reading a fantasy story about dragons she sounded like she was giving a 6 o'clock emergency news report. Or maybe some undercover interviews I don't know but it drove me nuts but it does say something for the quality of the story that I was able to ignore that in order to finish. I personally plan to purchase the rest of the series on Kindle since books 6 and on is not available there is one thing that I have a question about Lucian and now Leonidas and even Lexander seem to think that the only thing required is that the woman love them that they don't have to love her. I don't understand their logic because if the contract is based on true love that would have to go both ways.

Leonidas, Can He Circumvent His Curse?

Leonidas and Rosalyn's meeting was not without opposition, after all Rosalyn is a witch and a witch once cursed Leonidas. Can a witch now help him circumvent his curse and fulfill his destiny so he is able to meet the terms of the treaty which will ensure the safety of mankind?

I have to say before I go on with this review that I have already listened to the first three books of this wonderful Series and I really recommend them to anyone who is a fan of this genre or author. But you do not have to have listened to them to enjoy this one because Alisa gives you enough background information as you progress through the story that you can enjoy it to the full.

Leonidas is a 500 year old Dragon Shifter, who is nearing the end of his life, he has never been in love - why is that - because when he was very young he refused the love of a young but powerful witch. The result of which was that she cursed him so that if he ever did fall in love he would turn wyvern, that is to say his human side would die and he would need to be hunted down and destroyed.

His familly, The House of Smoke, are the protectors of mankind against demons and vampires and any other supernaturals who would harm humanity. To be able to do this the prince of the House must find a mate who truly loves him and they must produce a dragonling together. Leonidas is one of a set of triplets, but not the oldest, so everyone thought that when his eldest brother fulfilled the treaty humanity was saved. No all three brothers must find a mate who truly loves them and produce a dragonling in order for the treaty to be fulfilled.

Leonidas now has to find a mate who truly loves him without him loving her in return. He decides that as he could never love a witch, a witch would be the ideal choice, enter Rosalyn who has reason to hate shifters but needs to get something from one to help her mother. She has answered an add on a Shifter Dating site placed to help Leonidas find a mate.

Leonidas is a really good man/dragon with a pure and giving nature, he would do almost anything to protect his family and his house. He has protected himself for five hundred years by pretending to be self centered but his family know why and see right through him. He is also smoking hot, as sexy as hell and has 500 year's worth of sexual experience. If he is lucky enough to find a mate, produce a dragonling and save humanity there will be an additional bonus for him - he gets to live another 500 years with his mate and dragonling.

Rosalyn, I thought, was very self centered and although she loves her mother she does not appear to have any other redeeming qualities. Can Leonidas make her love him? Will he be able to resist loving her? Will there be an HEA for them? This is the premise of this book.

In writing their story Alisa has given us an intriguing story with demons, vampires and witches. I loved it and I can't wait to learn how their story progresses.

No warning about cliffhanger.

Interesting storyline, but ends with cliffhanger. Didn’t care for the main female character, too self-absorbed. The narrators did a good job with characters. On to the next book.

Good, but mispronounces “Kinney”’s name

So it’s understandable, I haven’t read the books but with the mispronunciation of “Kinney”‘a name I’m guessing the book uses the traditional Gaelic spelling of “Cionaodh”, which is impossible to understand the pronunciation if you don’t know how to pronounce words in Gaelic. But he should have looked it up first before recording the books.

this story was good but predictable.

it was good but not that exciting. I'm of course going to start the next one and keep going but it wasn't as good as Lucian and Arabella.

no major surprises, well performed, well written

This is the first part of a trilogy romance and there are no major surprises if you read the intro you pretty much understand what will happen in the three stories. there is no real reason for this to be three books other than to make the author more money. This alone loses it a star in my opinion it's annoying to have to read three books for the price of one and have things re-explained because it's another book when the story should be all in the same book. other than that I like the story and the story of his brother that precedes it. The magic is interesting and the world is well conceived. the characters are likable and well written. I am surprised I like the main character because he's a man whore and I usually don't like those characters. it's always hard for me to believe that a man whore is truly reformed; but in this book the way his life is explained , the way his motivations are explained, it is believable.
