Publisher's summary

With the System States Union now crushed and Trojan's new Empire on the rise, former foes become allies in a desperate attempt to prevent not only the collapse of human civilization but also the complete extermination of humanity at the hands of a diabolical new power player. Is salvation really possible, or was it all just rumors?

Rumors of Salvation contains strategic and tactical space battles as part of the grand vista of an interstellar war from the point of view of both high-level strategy and up-close-and-personal fighting.

Chronological format - interesting story

Saw lots of negative reviews on this, but I disagree. I enjoyed the 3rd and final book.

I thought the story and format was interesting and the plot entertaining.

I’d recommend if you enjoy strategic space combat stories. I especially appreciated the dynamics of resource allocation and planning around FTL delays, and how it affected the character’s thinking.

Enjoyable.

Terrible ending

Story was good but the final act seemed to be rushed.
it was almost like there was a time limit.

Perfect

Straight and to the point. Not flowery and over descriptive. Characters were great. I think I might listen to it again. Classic SciFi.

Good series

one thing that I respect is the end of a story. The trend as of late is to stretch out the story into as many books as When this happens, I tend to detect it and lose interest after just a couple of books into the series. This end came up a little precipitously as I think that the author, after telling a good story, realized that there wouldn't be enough material to justify another book, so he wrapped it up.

Good ending of series but a bit rediculous

The war between the Federation and the System States Rebellion took a more ominous twist when a traitorous third faction entered the fray, soon eclipsing both sides in terms of technology and strategic planning and predictability. All seemed lost except for a relatively small hidden brain trust left to save humanity.

The various battle encounters played out interestingly, almost like a game of chess where the rebels were left with only a king and a knight. However, the ability of each side being able to repeatably design, create and manufacture major military advances in a matter of a few years really stretched credulity even for a SciFi novel.

Dietmar Wehr writing itself is still very good and I look forward to reading more of his novels. Jeffrey Kafer narrating performance continued to be a positive contribution to the series.

Great series with a rushed ending.

Overall it was good. My only problem is the ending. It honestly needed an epilogue at the very least.

An Excellent Series of books.

The theme was very plausible and very well written. The end of each book carried forward the action of the first part of the story and continued thru each book to the end of the Fourth book. A very enjoyable read! Looking forward to reading other books by this author!
