About this listen

It is the greatest bounty hunt in history. Fifteen names. There are 15 targets, the finest warriors in the world - commandos, spies, terrorists. And they must all be dead by 12 noon, today. The price on their heads: almost $20 million each.

Among the names on the target list, one stands out. An enigmatic Marine named Shane Schofield, call-sign: Scarecrow. No limits. And so Schofield is plunged into a headlong race around the world, pursued by a fearsome collection of international bounty hunters - including the "Black Knight", a notoriously ruthless hunter who seems intent on eliminating only Schofield. The race is on and the pace is frantic as Schofield fights for survival, in the process unveiling a vast international conspiracy and the terrible reason why he cannot, under any circumstances, be allowed to live...

He led his men into hell in Ice Station. He protected the president against all odds in Area 7. This time it's different. Because this time Scarecrow is the target.

Good but could be better

Well written, fast paced an enjoyable read, but... My only complaint is the incredible escapes that the Scarecrow has from danger. Once in a novel is OK but repeatedly the Scarecrow makes his escape in feats that defy basic physics. They make James Bond novels/films tame. I believe this diminishes the books in a way that is unnecessary.

Worth a listen? I would say yes but what could have been a great book at times becomes ludicrous which is a shame.

"Matthew Reilly Version 2.0"

In Matthew Reilly's words this is the beginning of "Matthew Reilly Version 2.0". This is even faster, the plot is stronger and the scenes as unbelievable as ever. A great fun read and listen. Sean Mangan reads it well as usual. A group of corporations called M-12 create a game where bounty hunters have 15 targets to kill and collect money for. All targets need to be killed by 12 noon the following day. Scarecrow is one of the targets and along with Mother, Gant and a new character nicknamed "The Black Knight", he sets out to foil M-12's plans and save the world once again.

Terrible

Anyone who reads or listens to the news and/or has any global community awareness will hate it. I didn't even finish listening to the book which is a first for me. It was simply dumb.
