Set 300 years after the events of Alien: Out of the Shadows and Alien: River of Pain, Alien: Sea of Sorrows deals with the rediscovery of dormant Xenomorphs (Aliens) in the abandoned mines of LV-178, the planetoid from Alien: Out of the Shadows, which has now been terraformed and renamed New Galveston.

The Weyland-Yutani Corporation, reformed after the collapse of the United Systems Military, continue their unceasing efforts to weaponise the creatures, eliciting the help of Alan Decker, who is forced to join a team of mercenaries sent to investigate an ancient excavation lurking deep beneath the planet's toxic desert, dubbed the Sea of Sorrows.

Somewhere in that long-forgotten dig lies the thing the company wants most in the universe - a living Xenomorph. Decker doesn't understand why the company needs him until his genetic heritage comes back to haunt him. Centuries ago one of his ancestors fought the Aliens, launching a bloody vendetta that was never satisfied. That was when the creatures swore revenge on his forbear, 'the Destroyer', Ellen Ripley...and all her descendants.

This terrifying, cinematic multicast dramatisation - directed by the multiaward-winning Dirk Maggs, best known for his adaptations of Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere for the BBC - is the sequel to Audible Originals' Alien: Out of the Shadows (nominated for Best Audio Drama at the 2017 Audies) and Alien: River of Pain.

another great performance

another great performance, wish there were more new performances. I am excited to see what's next.

Not bad but the rest of the trilogy is better

Good story. Intense climax. Great production. 2 complaints: it's very far removed from the movies and doesn't add much we haven't seen in other entries. River of Pain is the best,

Thrilling and Engaging

While this may not be the format most are used to in the audiobook world, it does well to develop the characters and displays a detailed understanding of the Aliens universe. It is a continuation of the Audio dramas series for Alien, being the Third in the series. It's story is impactful and thrilling. The use of music and the nuance added from live speech allows for tension through inflection, which makes the situations and characters more relatable. The Audio Drama format reminds me of what my teachers would refer to as "a movie in your head". Although it is a little rough on the voice acting in some scenes, I still rate this Five stars.

Same story it always is and I love it. Aliens the way they are meant to be. Interesting twist. Classic. Cool POV from the alien.

Faithful to the Alien universe

A compelling little piece of the Alien universe, carefully written to fit into the global storyline. Great cast and sound work! Very worth your while.

Hungry for More!!!!!

I have to admit the two previous productions are by far and away my favorite, namely because I cut my teeth on Alien and Aliens and having these mini-movies was an absolute delight. While it took me a bit to warm up to this offering, as soon as the team hit planet side, I WAS HOOKED. The characters are rich and real. Much like the movies they covered the basis with the heroes I loved and the not-such-heroes I couldn't wait to become incubators. I have been anxiously awaiting the next production. Please keep them coming!

Not as Scary, More Intriguing

This installment wasn't as scary as other installments, but the characters were much more intriguing and dynamic. I WANT to find out what happens to Dekker in later installments. Keep them coming!
