About this listen

He was the perfect husband until she got pregnant.

An arranged marriage was always in Natalya Conte's future. Luca Moretti is charming and considerate. Handsome like the devil, he dotes on her and spoils her. But when two pink lines should have brought them unbridled joy, her husband ices her out.

An arranged marriage gives Luca great power. To cement that power, he needs an heir. The quickest way to do it is to make Natalya fall madly in love with him. He will have her loyalty without risking his heart because love to him means weakness.

Natalya needs Luca to love her because she has secrets that will put them all in jeopardy. Her heart shatters when Luca shows her exactly how little she means to him. But it isn't until she sees evidence of the unforgivable that she loses all hope for a happily ever after.

Sooooo good

This is my first Victoria Paige book and I'm so glad i got it! Luca is a manipulative a**hat and i hated him during the first part of the book. His grovel was good but his heartbreak was beautiful. I love that Natalya isn't a st*pid doormat. I love her brainy-ness. She's definitely one of my favorite FMCs. I wasn't sure about about the female narrator's whispery voice at first but i got used to it quickly. This would've been better with duet narration but the narrators did pretty good with their opposite sex impressions.

And Scorned It Was…

Let me tell you, I really felt bad for Natalya. To be manipulated into love then tossed aside then given scraps to stay close, it really tugged at my heart. Luca was an asshat, but he has his reasons why he kept her away. Boy did this man grovel, and I loved it.

The audio was amazing. Both Kingsley Rose and Christian Leatherman are new narrators for me. Kingsley captured the pain and anguish of Natalya. Christian lured me in and made me love Luca especially in Part II in the book. He played the domineering head of mafia and the asshat and swooning husband very well. I will read more books by the same author along with narrators

Oh Luca!

Many say he was a butthole but you could tell he loved her and was running. I enjoyed this book thoroughly. You do have to hang in there because it’s a bit long but when it jumped to two years later i was shook!😂 I went back to see if i missed a part. Luca and his groveling is everything!!🩷🩷 Top Tier! The narrators i feel did an outstanding job the female kept me engaged and the male kept me warm.

2 different books in one book

I really enjoyed this book because of how the H was a complete a hole. He thought she’d be fine living in luxury and only seeing the h. Not much and treating her badly. He broke her heart so many times. Telling her that he would never love her. And he’d thought that everything was ok so it seemed. But when he missed the birth of their son that caused her to crack. Just when they started getting along together she was kid napped assumed dead.

I loved the h she was strong. She had her own thing going and even though she had been hurt by the H she kept trying. Even though he shunned her she kept going.
This part 1 of the book was very different from book 2.

Part 2 started off with the H is still angry upset and never gave up on her possibility that she might not be dead despite the evidence that she was dead. When he finds her it’s a shock to him.

Part 2 started off with the h did not remember her life for the last 2 years.
She had to build a whole new life for herself.

When they reconnected he didn’t take her amnesia well, but this time he knew he loved her. This part 2 book was a very contrast to part 1. The H was very different in Part 2 He just had to covince her that he was in love with her as she started to remember the bad times like when he said I will never love you and missing Elias birth. When she remembers those times she called him out. But in the end he was able to show her how much he loved her.

This book had me going. I enjoyed the aspect of 2 parts of the book.
I was very much into the book from the first page.

I highly recommend this book. I have not read the first book yet so I’m going to do that next.

Grit those teeth and you'll get a oh so satisfying epilogue

I really enjoy being surprised by an audiobook. More so when I have read and loved the book beforehand, and this is exactly what happened here.

Admittedly, when I first started listening to Scorned Vows I was skeptical because the narrators didn't sound exactly how I imagined the main characters whilst reading it, but the more I listened, the more I enjoyed it. They brought the story to life by convincingly conveying Luca & Natalya's emotional journey. All the pain, anger and love could practically be felt in their words. Heck, even the worry, frustration and fear came out. And thank goodness for that, because having a hero like Luca (anti-hero? morally grey hero? villian-to-hero hero? 🤔), the emotions needed to flow. -> This is the only warning I'll give that Luca is an A-grade alphahole in the beginning buuuut hang in there, he gets a rude awakening in the form of karma. 😉🤣

As for the heroine… Natalya's growth & transformation once again brought a smile to my face.

*** Adding this here for those who want to throw in the towel at a certain point - you will know when 😏 - just as I said before about Luca, HANG IN THERE.***

A teeny tiny bit of criticism that I could give, hence the deduction of 1 star for narration - is that the male narrator should alter his voice more when talking as the different male characters. It sounded too similar most of the time making it difficult to distinguish between characters. That said, he has no problem doing this for the different female voices and is quite good at impersonating a female. Go figure. lol (The book is written in dual pov and audiobook dual narration.)

Overall I loved the story enough to purchase both the book and audiobook. It's a romantic suspense that can be enjoyed as a standalone and ends with a HEA. All you need is to grit those teeth when you feel like ending the hero to get to that oh so satisfying epilogue.

4 stars

In this gripping continuation of the Chicago mafia saga, we dive into the tangled lives of Natalya and Luca as they navigate the complexities of their arranged marriage. Luca is convinced that Natalya’s love signifies loyalty, while his own love would only make him weak—a belief that sets the stage for heartbreak when her hidden life comes to light, unraveling their world.

From the very start, I was pulled into their story. My heart ached for Natalya as she endured Luca’s cold indifference, and I couldn’t help but shout at his infuriating stubbornness. It was so clear to me—and probably to everyone reading—how deeply he truly cared, even if he refused to admit it. Their relationship is a whirlwind of tension, secrets, and undeniable chemistry that kept me flipping the pages, completely captivated by their journey. If you’re ready for an emotional ride filled with drama and passion, this one is a must-read!

Luka unlikeable

I feel like this book was rushed. Luka is not a likeable character. He kinda redeem himself at the end but you have to make it to the part first. I know it's a arranged marriage but I didn't feel any chemistry between the two. also the voices were stiff.
