Publisher's summary

PI Steve Rockfish's father loses part of his retirement savings in an online romance scam while partner Jawnie McGee handles the firm's newest client, who spins a tale of alleged spousal infidelity. Rockfish ignores his current case load and becomes fixated on tracking down those responsible for the fraud. Restitution is coming in the form of cash or broken bones. At the same time, Jawnie's surveillance of the cheating spouse reveals more acts of kindness than sex, leading to a client who doesn't want to believe the good news.

Unbeknownst to the partners, each investigative path leads the partners to the Church of the Universal Nurturing II, where the fraud is on a cryptocurrency level. Their new SunCoin is marketed as the only post-rapture currency accepted inside the pearly gates. After all, who wants to show up to the after party with out-turned pockets and not get past Heaven's paywall?

Church elders court Rockfish and his newfound Hollywood wealth with an old-fashioned honey pot. The danger level ratchets up as Rockfish counters by sending the firm's two new confidential informants undercover, only to find the church's endgame grift is larger and deadlier than anyone expected.

Very entertaining!

Well this was a lot of fun. Loved it! I'm glad I listened to the audio. I know I would have still liked the book but the audio just made it feel real. The characters came alive.

There was a wide variety of characters, all of them done very well! Rockfish was not my favorite, but I still liked him. I loved the way he showed his concern for Jawnie. She was my favorite (with Lynn second, well I am a woman LOL). Jawnie was the new partner. I loved how she was learning on the job. I could see myself liking her in real life. And Raffi, every time Raffi opened his mouth I found myself giggling. What a character. They all made a very good team.

This book was so me! It was funny, witty, and best of all, sarcastic my favorite! I always connect with a character that is snarky and sarcastic, and this book is full of it! I found myself laughing out loud or at least giggling all through which made for a fun read.

A serious but not so serious crime thriller. Yeah you do kind of figure out what's going on pretty quick but I was so caught up in the quirkiness of the characters that I didn’t even care at this point. And there were a lot of "Oh my gosh" gasping moments to keep the surprises coming.

Bottom line - this book was - Entertaining!

Now, I need to go back and listen to book 1 - The Pine Barrens Stratagem

AUDIO REVIEW - 5 stars for the reader! He did a fantastic job! The voices he did were spot on. I would definitely listen to more from him.

Entertaining Celtic Knot of a Story

I’ve listend to the first story (The Pine Barrens Stratagem) and was hooked with the sarcasm and pop culture references. This second story picks up shortly left off and elevates the comedy and crime puzzles bar that was set by the first, where the same problems stem from the Same source, somehow (still didn’t see that coming despite knowing it would).

New characters are introduced without forgetting what made the original characters great. I look forward to the third story.

I don’t want to say goodbye to this characters, ever.

Volume 2 of a Timely, Fun Detective Series

I admit, I entered into listening to this with some trepidation. I had so much fun with the first entry, I didn't think that could be matched. I was wrong. Volume 2 - See You Next Tuesday is as much fun as the title suggests!

Steve Rockfish and Jawnie are back, this time with some backup and a couple new characters who are fully formed, with their own quirks and foibles.

These strories are a great mix of 70s noir TV detective shows like the Rockford Files & Columbo meshed with modern sarcasm. The criminals and scam that drives the plot (I won't ruin it by mentioning it) is perfect for today's state of the world. Fun action and great locales really drive the plot forward, if you're hitting the shore, beach or lake this Summer it is a great read.

I can't wait for volume 3!

Sequel Does Not Disappoint!

The Steve Rockfish sequel does not disappoint! In the second book of the Case Files of Steve Rockfish, we see Steve and Jawnie's business grow as does the chemistry between these two. This installment gives us a deeper look into our favorite characters and introduces us to some new faces making the growing Rockfish family even more engaging. From cheating spouses to the Church of the Universal Nurturing, Harris keeps you guessing. In the end, two different cases coalesce into one explosive relatable story line that leaves you thankful it's a book and not happening in your real life. As always, Harris' wit and humor coupled with the emotions you will find coursing through this story makes for a fun ride.
