Meeker reveals:

  • How a man can become a strong father
  • How a father's guidance influences every part of a woman's life, from her self-respect to her perspective on drugs, alcohol, and sex
  • How to lay down ground rules that are respected without creating distance in your relationship with your daughter
  • Why you need to be your daughter's hero
  • The mistakes most fathers make and their serious consequences
  • How to help daughters make their own good decisions and avoid disastrous mistakes
  • How a father's faith will influence his daughter's spiritual development
  • How to get through to your daughter, even during her toughest don't-talk-to-me years
  • True stories of daughters who were on the wrong path - and how their fathers helped to bring them back

A good primer for fatherhood.

I do a lot of driving and this one started out really difficult to read due to the facts and figures that seem to drone on in the beginning. The book continued to get better but again started out rough and I almost returned it. Much of this I've heard before or knew, but was happy to hear it again. I definitely recommend this to any dad who has a little girl now or will in the future. Dads are a daughter's first love, first idea of what man she should look for later and this will help you understand how important it is now to be the rock, her lighthouse in this life. I will say I'm not sure this book has much going for repeat readability.

Must Read

Extremely insightful and well organized. Raising a daughter without reading this is like going fishing with no pole and no bait on a snowy and moonless night.

Keep it coming!

Great book and stories! My daughter is only 16 months old so I hope this book continues to change with the times... at least until she’s out of college.

Revisit yearly

This book provides great advice / reminders for Fathers. It is stuff that can be forgotten as life is lived and focus is driven elsewhere. For that reason, I plan to revisit this book at least yearly.

Very informative.

Very easy to listen to, and kept my attention. Very informative and opened my eyes to more aspects of being a dad, to a daughter who is now 11.
