Publisher's summary

Big, blue, and ugly. Who says a troll can’t be the hero?

Chad’s 30-day sentence may be over, but his trolling has just begun. Forsaking his old ways, he fully embraces a future as Chod, the hero of the forest trolls.

But life in Isle of Mythos isn’t easy for the barbarian summoner. Chod has angered more than one felon on his quest to save his people from extinction, and they’ve sworn vengeance. With a target on his back, Chod is about to find out how difficult the world can be for a hero that looks like a monster.

Never slows down!

Exactly what I wanted from a litrpg style book. Action and solid progress, doesn't slog down at any point, vibrant world building, and solid investment in the potential of the characters. Great setup for the next book with a solid ending. Sure i wish it was longer but im looking forward to the next book!

Builds excellently on the first book

This book was awesome. It builds on the great foundation of book 1. Even better it leaves you salivating for book 3.

The story keeps going strong!

I got a free copy of the writer so first I want to thank Rowland for that! What makes the gift even more impressive is that the second part in this series is at least as good as the first one. The suspense and action force you to keep listening. The narrator also did a good job with this piece. If you like fantasy or litrpg I would advise you to give this series a chance. Now I can only hope the third part will deliver the same decent quality as the first two parts.

Much better than the last.

It feels like the author has learned since his last entry and you can tell by his verbiage, the surprises and originality in the story, as well as the emotional bonds within each unique character. Well done. And the performance is top notch, I love this narrator.

Big Bad Blue

The other players or felons are out for Chod (or Chad). He is now a big blue troll and even stands out among the fellow trolls. His friend from the real world has joined him in game but Chod needs to find out where he is. This book talks about leveling up, gear and dungeon diving, but you can feel the tension and situation building in the background as things start to happen. You learn more about the Isle of Mythos and the history of the people who live there. Oh and by the way his friend who is football player size in the real world is a dwarf druid in game. Since his friend is a noob and people are out for Chod, they need to level him up fast.

This Series is Getting Better With Each Entry!

S.L. Rowland's sequel continues to craft a fascinating virtual world for Chod to explore. The addition of his real-world best friend Taryn leads to greater character development for our hero, as well as plenty of opportunities for snark from both. And I love the locales that have been showcased! Rowland's descriptions made it very easy for me to envision the areas the heroes journey to and through. I am looking forward to the next entry!
