Too much domination

Usually, Christine Feehan's books are fun & sexy, even if they aren't terribly well crafted.

This is worse than Street Game in terms of subjugation of the female lead. If I wanted to read about bondage and such, I would have read Fifty Shades of Gray.

I'm trying another Ghostwalker book next. If the sex is just as violent, I'm not reading any more of her books.

Ms. Feehan wins me back with this one!

I loved this book! Christine Feehan has won me back as a listener with this one. She had seemed to be boggled down with her Carpathian series, and all the stories were beginning to read the same. Don't get me wrong I also like that series, but after six or seven books nothing seemed to change. They all just became a lot of sex scenes and nothing more. Well, this story was a pure delight!

The Shadow Rider's are very different from any of her other stories. They are bad asses with pure attitude! Stefano Ferraro is like a mafia godfather with a heart of gold! Although his family moves in legitimate circles by day, it's the illegitimate side that makes you fall in love with him. His family has a very unique ability to move by using shadows. This means they can travel anywhere unseen by the human eye, and they use it to great advantage!

Of course, there is an underlying love story that also wins your heart. What I liked best, the hero didn't just try to jump the heroines bones before SHE could commit fully to their relationship. It's a nice twist that I didn't expect! There were a few times she kind of worked my nerves, but that happens in every book for me. See, I hate that every writer makes us read about the unnecessary apprehensive misgivings our hero and heroin face to be with each other. It's like they write adversity between the charters where there is none. For me that's just fluff for the story and it works my nerves. If you can get pass that, this book is a very good listen.

Jim Frangione is wonderful as always in his reading. This book is one of those rare five star ratings across the board!

Romantic at heart, but come on girl!?

I am a romantic at heart and love to see the girl get the guy or vice versa, but at some points during the story all I could think was "no! That is not romantic, that is the precursor of a domestic violence situation!" Of course, it worked out fine in the end and everyone was happy, to each their own. And all situations or soft plot lines can be saved by the wonderful narration of Jim Frangione. It was entertaining and worth my time, but nothing to write home about.

I wanna ride the Shadows with Stefano!

JF brought the story to life for me, with Stefano's every other "Fu@&ing" word!
Stefano's accent became a part of the story, make me see the story and take heart better.

I always love CF male characters but I think Stefano jumped to one of the top five.

A good solid read ot listen. I highly recommend this book. once you pick it up you wont want to stop.

New Series is a "hit"

I love this new series. The characters are well defined, the action is intense, and the plot is well thought out as is usual for Ms. Feehan's books. I especially love the depth of feeling between the siblings. I am glad the second book is coming out in May - I really want to read it!

Perfect in every way!

New to this narrator but SO glad I took the risk! The book was perfection down to the modern sex scenes. I came from reading her Dark Series novels and this was just as hot and steamy but an equally pleasant change. I hung on every word. EVERY. Word....

Great love story!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Shadow Rider?

The compassion that comes through the family. Carrying for the family. Why don't families have that any more. I would give anything to have that close knit family. I would give anything to have my siblings close, but they are so distance they are in their own little worlds.

Have you listened to any of Jim Frangione’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I enjoyed his performance. He is very sexy. I don't think I have heard him before. He is really good.
