Very helpful

What was one of the most memorable moments of Siblings Without Rivalry?

The fact that the adults parents, while trying to help their children, got closure from their own hurts and emotional baggage, that developed years ago, from their experience with sibling rivalry.

What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?

Let the hurting child express their negative feelings to you. Of course you don't agree, but it will help your child, because accepting and validating, helps those negative feelings go away.

Any additional comments?

This book taught me to forget the classic one liners, such as, 'I love you both the same" as they are NOT helpful!

Very inspirational and practical

I'm a mother of 3, 6 year-old daughter and two boys 4 and 2. I never could find time to read and didn't think I would ever need to follow a book for raising my kids until my youngest turns 2. Sibling rivalries started so badly I started doing physical punishments, which make me deeply wish i'd came across this book a lot sooner. I've tried some of the methods or ways of talking/guiding with my kids, sometimes I see an immediate result but sometimes I would have to brainstorm a different approach. With my kids, I know this new way of parenting will work but it'll nevertheless lay need time to bring my kids back to a "harmony". All and all, this book has provided a very practical, inspirational and positive way of thinking in parenting. Highly recommend it!

Use on Young Kids and Adult Siblings

It was great, I mostly think it helped me understand the thought process of when kids get upset over the littlest things. This book shows how to handle those moments that help kids gain skills to problem solve on their own without much help from the parents. This book also touches on the adult and how your childhood relationship with your siblings can and may have affected your feelings toward them today. Overall great book and a must read. I sent a copy to my sister and a friend with kids.
*Note: I am just a regular person who enjoys reading for my own enjoyment/development.

WOW! Highly recommend for parents with multiple kids

This book was so enlightening. It did bring up memories from my own childhood and gave me such an appreciation for the relationships I have with my own siblings. More importantly it has given me the tools useful to address sibling conflict and to help teach our kids how to work things out themselves and with each other with the hopes of building a strong and close bond.

Excellent resource!

This is a book I will listen to time and time again. The guidance of what to say and what not to say to promote healthy sibling bonds are so amazing. I’ve noticed a difference after a day.

This is a great book with a lot of new information

Would you consider the audio edition of Siblings Without Rivalry to be better than the print version?

For me yes. Depends on the person. I tend to process things better when I lessen to books. I do own both.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Siblings Without Rivalry?

I wouldn't say that this book has memorable moments. The style of the book is written in a way that I am able to recall the stories (examples) and then I can try the strategies out on my children.

What insight do you think you’ll apply from Siblings Without Rivalry?

Too much to list.
