like it but...

the story is quite captivating; i am not finished yet but I can't wait to turn it on every time i drive to work. I do not think I will order again from this narrator though... her voice and accents are distracting. Amusing, but distracting.

Good story

This was really good. After the first chapter I thought it was not going to be my type of book. But it was just building the foundation. Good story that kept moving and held my interest. This is the first book that I have read by Michael Palmer, but it won't be my last.

roseanne sings the national anthem

i shouldn't review this book as i haven't been able to get past the first hour. the narrator is so oddly distracting that i actually replayed the opening five minutes three times to try to figure out what she was saying...if this sounds harsh, listen long enough to hear her SING the national anthem...in a nazi accent. excruciating enough that i bought a new book to listen to...

how fast can we read a book outloud?

Very seldom do I see a book that is almost trashed by the reader. I really wanted to reach right in there and reduce the woman's caffine alotment at a few points in the book. I am fairly able to listen to a fast reader but this one got obnoxious.
I had to put the story aside in my mind just to try and follow what this really fast reader was
TRYING to say. Very distracting.
That said I also noted that a few times I think she was actually enjoying the book and slowed down a tiny bit to savor it.

Great read

characters are vulnerable, memorable and the action compelling. I loved that Kate backed away from an affair.

ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

What did you like best about Side Effects? What did you like least?

The sinister nazi scientist angle was promising but fell short of interesting.

Would you recommend Side Effects to your friends? Why or why not?

I would not recommend Side Effects unless it was on sale (less than $5).

What three words best describe Angela Dawe’s performance?

good, pedestrian, satisfactory

Do you think Side Effects needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Although the end hints to a follow-up book and other listeners seemed to enjoy this book, I don't think a sequel is necessary.

Any additional comments?

Mahalo.
