Please join us as we continue our sermon series, “The Wonderful World of Jesus” where we explore the biblical message of Jesus through the lens of some of the most popular animated movies of all time. Today, we focus on the animated classic ‘Frozen’ and take a look at some of the wisdom that can be found in Proverbs.

In this sermon, Pastor Clayton shares how the book of Proverbs is wisdom from God to help us know that we are not to ‘rely on our own understanding’ or hide away and face our fears on our own. Instead, we have a God who is always with us, willing to guide us and comfort us. God also tells us that we should share our struggles with our trusted loved ones so that they can help us bear our burdens because our community reminds us that we are never truly alone. When we expose our fear and allow the love of Christ and community to transform it, we are unfrozen from that fearful space and are free to let it go and live as God called us: to be renewed in body, mind and spirit and not be afraid.

We begin this series with the animated classic ‘The Lion King’ and we’ll take a look at some of the most important words Jesus gave to his disciples and find parallels between the stories.

In this sermon, Pastor Clayton helps us understand that by serving our community and our neighbors, we can truly discover what God put us here to do. The greatness that God calls us to belongs in serving the world. It’s about emptying ourselves of our ego and status and instead serving the needs of our neighbors.
