Publisher's summary

Abandoned by his mother when he was young, twenty-two-year-old Rave Wayne knows all about loss. That doesn't mean he's used to it. After he's dumped by the girlfriend he assumed he'd spend his life with, Rave is longing more than ever to connect.

Then, as if by miracle, he receives an invitation from his grandfather, a man he thought was long gone, to come for a visit in rural Tennessee. Loyal, honest, and loving, dear old Tuck is everything Rave could have hoped for. He's family. Soon, Rave finds himself falling for a down-to-earth local girl, and he thinks his life is finally coming together.

But the past isn't through with Rave. When his mother returns after many long years, looking to reconcile the terrible mistakes that once defined her, Rave struggles to put together the unsettled pieces of his heart. Will this once-estranged family be able to come together to understand the meaning of unconditional love, the fragile bonds of family, and the healing power of letting go?

REST

Remember Every Soldier Today. I'll leave the discription of the story to someone else. I'll just say this is a beautiful tale full of love and heartache. I wept and rejoiced; sometimes on the same page.

A wonderful tribute to love, forgiveness, understanding and life

I've read one other book by Heather Burch and compared her the female Nicholas Sparks and I stand by that first appraisal. Her writing is impeccable and storylins that should be made into movies. This story reached my heart in a way that makes all the characters real. The relationship between his grandfather is one of love and letting go of anger and resentment. It's rare to find a book this powerful with sex scenes or language. It's a novel that I recommend everyone read/listen to. Scott Harriman is an excellent narrator. Please take the time to read this book. It touches the heart like nothing I've ever read before

Amazing

Being a soldier myself this book touched me deeply. My mother was also drug addict while I was growing up. Very good story. I will never forget it.

Not your usual romance

Heath has done it again. This book tackles hard issues: addiction, abandonment, regret, remembrance, and forgiveness. These issues are handled in realistic yet gentle ways. Judgements are withheld as characters explore the cavernous holes inside each of them. What I loved was that tiny issues didn’t blast apart the new couple. They dealt with issues between them in mature ways, instead of allowing lies and hurt split them. They were there for each other, even though the rest of their world was falling apart. I highly recommend this book to single parents and children of addicts or recovering addicts, veterans or their families. It will give you a depth of understanding you may not get elsewhere.

Everything was perfect about this book. The only thing I struggled with was figuring out how to put it down!
