Publisher's summary

Every man is born with just one thing: his sovereignty - his power to respond to his environment and his circumstances. Unfortunately, most men have spent much of their lives giving away that sovereignty. Every time a man passes blame or shirks his responsibility, every time he makes excuses for his performance, and every time he trades his unlimited potential for a little perceived safety and security, he willingly submits himself to the mercy of others.

Is it any wonder that men, in general, seem to have lost their way? You don't have to look very far to recognize that men don't seem to possess the same amount of vigor and purpose they once did. Take one sobering statistic - the rate of suicide in men - and you begin to see how damaging the effects of the voluntary subjugation of men to their families, their businesses, and their governments can be.

It's not hard to understand why we give up control to others - it's easy and we're expected to. Sovereignty: The Battle for the Hearts and Minds of Men is a call for men to once again rise up and establish themselves as they once were - a revolution if you will.

Inside this book, we'll uncover the battle each man will inevitably engage in, the external forces fighting against the call to masculinity, and the internal struggle all men must overcome.

But make no mistake, this revolution is not a call for men to go their own way and rally against society. It's a call for men to become fully the men they are meant to be so they may more adequately take care of themselves and those they are responsible for. Men have always been expected to protect, provide, and preside over themselves, their families, their businesses, and their communities.

More than I expected, reconstruction is under way.

Ryan has for now changed the way how I think as a whole man, being a better man, father and c.e. every day. This book was in my list of must-read, and as soon as I found it on Audible I was very grateful. I will gain value with reading it again and write down what I know will give my life a value. Thank you, Sir, for good reading.

Roadmap requires you to move.

The principals and ideas shared I believe are things that we all know. We as men often times do not know how to put them to work for us, the book gives great clarity for me to continue on becoming a better Man for my Wife and Children, but most importantly for myself and to achieve my full potential.

Now go take action!

Great advice on improving yourself as a man, husband, father and leader. Includes a battle plan to improve areas you need to focus on in your life. Like any self improvement book as Ryan says, it's worthless if you don't take action. Action is what builds confidence, not the other way around.

A Guide to Cultivating Manhood and Life

This book is a great start to understanding where you can grown as a man and how to begin that journey. While I found the word helpful and motivating, I believe that I will need a hard copy to truly begin the journey. Unless there a PDF available to accompany the audiobook that I have yet to discover. That being said, the journey for me has now begun, where I otherwise would not have read the book in 2 days. I will listen again and like get a hard copy. This is not a one and done fix it all type of book. The work begins now.

great "read" for men looking to better themselves

Listened to this book after discovering Ryan's show on Warrior Poet Society Network. Definitely a great read and the fact it is narrated by Ryan is definitely a plus.

Simple. Concise. Powerful.

Not much fluff, but chock full of motivation and action plans. There is nothing “new” here, but it is written in a way that will help you take action and continually WANT to take action. .

Exactly what Men Need

I started listening to the Order of Man podcast a while back but after a recent divorce decided to invest in the IC and part of the required reading is Sovereignty and I couldn’t be more grateful. Ryan touches on philosophy and actions that many authors like Ryan Holiday and Jocko covered in their books but the game changer here is the battle planning and AAR. If you need to make some big changes and make them stick this book is for you.
