As we delve into this world of elite athleticism and grandiose pride, we will see the devastation caused by ego and greed, and how sometimes the best stories of heroes are the underdogs. We look at great individual comebacks as well as team comebacks. We will look at controversy in all its forms and the rivals that elevate a sport, and the fans who undermine it. This book is for sports buffs, and those with just a passing interest, as we will grow to understand what it is that makes sport so special.
