Story
Newspapers may be full of doom-and-gloom headlines, but the lucky people who live with cats get to be happy each and every day. Then again, if you live with cats you probably don’t see those terrifying headlines, anyway (because your cat won’t get off the paper long enough for you to read it), and that’s sort of the point. Cats make the very best companions for hundreds of reasons. The Book of Pawsome is a touching and raspy-tongue-in-cheek reminder that, even in a world gone mad, cat lovers always have plenty to smile about.

Story
Homer, the world-renowned Blind Wonder Cat, returns this holiday season with an ins-purr-ational tale filled with holiday cheer! Fifteen years earlier, doctors had warned that Homer - a tiny, sightless kitten - was unlikely to survive and probably wouldn't have much of a life even if he did. Miraculously and against all the odds, Homer grew into a feline dynamo who scaled seven-foot bookcases, saved his human mom's life when he chased a late-night burglar from their apartment, and rose to global fame-paving the way for other special-needs animals once considered "unadoptable".

Story
When street musician James Bowen found an injured cat curled up in the hallway of his apartment building, he had no idea how much his life was about to change. James was living hand to mouth on the streets of London, barely making enough money to feed himself - the last thing he needed was a pet. Yet, James couldn't resist helping the strikingly intelligent, but very sick animal, whom he named Bob. He slowly nursed Bob back to health and then sent the cat on his way, never imagining that he would see him again. But Bob had other ideas.

Kate knew little about dogs and nothing about business, and no one thought being a professional dog walker was a good use of her university degree. Story
Twelve-year-old Crispin has lived on the streets since he was nine - with only his wits and his daring to sustain him, and only his silent dog, Harley, to call his friend. He is always on the move, never lingering in any one place long enough to risk being discovered. Still, there are certain places he returns to. In the midst of the tumultuous city, they are havens of solitude: like the hushed environs of St. Mary Salome Cemetery, a place where Crispin can feel at peace - safe, at least for a while, from the fearsome memories that plague him... and seep into his darkest nightmares.

Story
Animals bring out the goodness, humanity, and optimism in people and speak directly to our souls. This joyous, inspiring, and entertaining Chicken Soup collection relates the unique bonds between animals and the people whose lives they've changed: such as the dolphins who helped a paralyzed woman heal when doctors offered little hope; the dog who brought life into a failing marriage; the kitten who helped a mother mourn; and the flying squirrel who taught a man the power of laughter.

Story
In a boarded-up house on a dead-end street at the edge of the wild Washington woods lives a family of three. A teenage girl who isn’t allowed outside, not after last time. A man who drinks alone in front of his TV, trying to ignore the gaps in his memory. And a house cat who loves napping and reading the Bible. An unspeakable secret binds them together, but when a new neighbor moves in next door, what is buried out among the birch trees may come back to haunt them all.

Another winner!!!
Loved it. Read Homers Odyssey and wanted to read more. This one did not disappoint. Loved the romance between the stray tuxcedo cat and her indoor cat. And the part about the one cat getting into all the little fuzzy mice and then leaving them everywhere as little gifts!!! Laughed so hard was afraid I might wake my husband up. I absolutely love these stories. I listen mostly at night when I can’t sleep and just want to forget about all the chaos that might be going on in my life. I can relate so much. I also grew up in Miami. Lived in Dade county. Spent many weekends at biscayne beach with parents. I left Miami to go to college in 1981. Crime was starting to get really bad around then. I think that’s when Homer heroically saved author from a break in. And yes, my stepmother moved us to Peoria , Illinois when I was in 8th grade. And I got same crazy looks when asked where I was from. They were like what ? And you moved here? Luckily moved back to Miami to finish out high school. Laughed so hard when she said her hubby commented about all the cat toys. Our living room looks like a cat daycare center. And I’m always wanting to add more. Plans for a catio next. Best books ever. And I can’t just listen to anyone on audible. But author has great voice. Keep up the good work!!! From one cat lover to another.

What stood out most ? HOMER, of course.
Homer is perhaps the one cat I most admire. A blind cat that saved his mom's life !?!? Top that, I dare you.

Love Homer and the gang
Every book from Gwen Cooper is great! She does wonderful work for the furries. I wish more people were as loving and invested into animals as she is. Scarlett, Vashti and Homer + Clayton and Fanny your stories and antics have made me laugh and cry. I will listen many more times to all of your books and cherish them again and again. Thank you Gwen for having the heart you do and the talent to write about it for us to read.
