Publisher's summary

Op-Center chief Paul Hood was going to retire. But that's about as likely as a gun shooting flowers. A bunch of rogue U.N. peacekeepers, or "Keepers," has decided to cross over to the wrong side of the law. Armed with stolen U.N. weapons and ammo, they devise a shocking plan to gain the world's attention. Demanding one hundred million dollars in ransom, the assassins take over the U.N. - where ambassadors from ten nations have gathered for a gala function at which Hood's daughter is going to perform. Hood is back in the saddle in a flash, and with the full force of Op-Center at his command, he's not merely out to manage a crisis - he's out for blood and vengeance.

A good story that is well read.

The story is good. It has lots of little plots. The reading is very clear and fits the
the emotion of the book. You can start and stop the story and still enjoy all of it.
I really have enjoyed the book.

Missed Opportunity

As a military spouse who has experienced long deployments with my husband overseas in combat zones, I abhor Sharon Hood’s character. She is weak. Whiny. She is a spoiled brat who appears to have never grown up and is never satisfied. It is disappointing that they didn’t take advantage of this crisis scenario to kill her off.

UN under siege!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Paul Hood for his bravery and courage when saving his daughter. Also because he is not afraid to make decisions that put his life and job at risk.

Which scene was your favorite?

Paul Hood and Brett August taking out the terrorist to save Hood's daughter.

El relato es vivo y mantiene el suspenso. Recomendable. Como todos los libros de Tom Clancy, muy recomendable.

Enjoyable Not Spellbinding.

I did enjoy but not as gripping as his other books.
I love Tim Clancy books but would not recommend this as a spellbinding book.
I will, of course, continue listening to every Tom Clancy book I can, this certainly was probably, I hope, just not one of my favorites.

They are NOT "Clips". They are "Magazines".

Good, interesting story. Narrator is Average. (I'm a big fan George Guidall, Dick Hill & RC Bray.) Having spent decades serving in the US Militery and Private/Commercial US Firms, I fume when incorrect terminology is misused in otherwise acceptable combat stories. Cooect term is "Magazines" for 99% of auto- and semi-autimatic weapons. NOT "clips".

State of Siege

Not worth the money, slow read, too wordy and boring. Not up to the standard set for the Op Center Seriesbeta inappVoteInfo

as always: Tom Clancy

I quite loved this. the story was something I would expect from a Tom Clancy Novel. Michael Kramer as a narrator did a good job, however not to my preferred taste. still nothing against him because he still did a phenomenal job.

Op Center

I have now listened to the first 6 Op-Center Books. All have been absolutely first rate in every respect. All of the characters are fascinating, but my favourite is the General. I can't wait for the rest of the series and hope it goes on for a long, long time!
