About this listen

After a disastrous high school game of spin the bottle, I gave up trying to get a boyfriend and spent my time studying instead. Now I’m twenty-four, and I’m not only a virgin, I haven’t even been kissed.

When I meet Danny, a handsome legal hotshot, he catches my eye. Right before I trip on flat ground. Ugh.

He’s got a massive … reputation. He’s the most popular guy in the club, a total playboy with a new conquest every night. There’s no way he’d be interested in me.

But one night after I imbibe too much, he winds up taking care of me. And when I ask for his help with my travesty of a social life, he agrees to teach me how to be less awkward with men … if I let him document my progress so he can win a bet with his best friend.

Even though he’s just my love tutor and I’m just his apprentice, this starts to feel like more.

Too bad it can’t be anything but a high-level seminar in how to seduce someone else.

Studious is a sweet and sexy contemporary opposites-attract m/m romance about a suave attorney who’s scared to love and the shy, nerdy bookkeeper he’s teaching how to be a player. Cue makeover montage and a smoldering first kiss. These heroes most definitely are not falling in love. (Okay, heartwarming HEA guaranteed.)

I loved this

What a sweet story. well written, Leslie McAdam did a great job with this one. Teenage events change each of the MC's outlook on life and relationships. Leslie's writing makes it easy to avoid the pause button. Nice to see characters from book one. I like series stories that carry the cast throughout. The narration was decent. Declan Winters did a good job bringing out the personalities of the characters. His voice is smooth at bringing stories to life. This is a light hearted, easy to listen to story. I definitely recommend it.👏❤🔥

Exemplary Writing; Flawless Narration

Fun and sharp-witted, this Pygmalian-esque story by Leslie McAdam is easily the best romance I’ve read in many months. The dialogue sparkles. The first-person POV doesn’t get too heavily bogged down with internal angst. It’s the perfect breezy beach/poolside summer read.

Adding to this impeccable audio edition is the spectacular voice-acting by Declan Winters. His performance brings the listener directly into the story and makes it feel real. I’ll be looking out for more of his excellent voice work.

Highly recommended!

Really Enjoyed This Story

I quickly got into this story and just could not put it down. I just kept wanting more of this story but in a good way. I'm looking forward to book 3. I enjoyed listening to the audiobook for this just as much as reading it. The great narration by Declan Winters helped to bring the story to life.

I received an ARC and this is my unbiased opinion

sweet n spucy

I loved this story. It grabs you and doesn't let go.
But not only is the story good but the narration is great. I could listen forever to Declan's smooth voice. He brought emotion and interest to the story.

This is Book 2 in the IOU series but stands alone just fine.
I loved all tge characters. Even Danny being a playboy he came across as likeable. He was honest from the get go and watching him slowly evolve was fun.
The whole premise of the blog learning thing for Alden was cute. Watching him go from shy and awkward to more confident was enjoyable. All the office banter is fun too.
It's an overall enjoyable romance well worth the listen!

I needed this book.

Alden and Danny

I needed this book. It was so incredibly sweet and affectionate. This is a cinnamon roll book. I usually am not a fan of characters who are mid-20 virgins but this one explains it in a way that makes it make sense. I thought I knew what I was going to get out of Danny but was pleasantly surprised that I didn't. The author keep each character true to how she portrayed both of them throughout the book and I'm so grateful for that. I also like how the softer character in this book didn't have a 'okay I'm in charge and this is how it's gonna be be' or a 'don't tell me how I feel!' moment in this book. It was soft and calm and cuddly. The spicy scene were both sweet and naughty. The chemistry was just there.I will definitely be adding this author to my follow list.

Alden is a math geek who is shy, introverted, and awkward. The blind date he goes on is kind of hilarious. All he wants is a little direction on how to be a better him, not a different him. Enter Danny. When a coworker friend tells Alden to ask Danny for lessons he does, admittedly when he's drunk, but he still does.

Danny had his heart smashed in HS and decided settling down wasn't for him. But unlike other characters in other books that have where it gives them a life time jaded attitude, Danny is still a good guy to everyone. Kind. When Alden ask him to teach him how to be more confident he agrees in exchange for anonymously documenting it for his new social media bet with his friend. Jealousy however was never on the itinerary.

I'm dying to say more but if you're looking for a sweet book read it. I loved it. 5 stars.

4.5 stars for Studious!

Such a good story. I loved the characters, and I am a huge fan of opposites attract so I was naturally drawn to this from the moment I read the blurb. Danny is the typical player, a once-and-done guy who has no problem picking guys up for a bit of fun. You know the type, the guy who plays the field with no repeats, but once that one certain guy crosses his path that he gets to really know well he starts to think he may want more.

I identified strongly with Alden’s character with his shyness and awkwardness around others he doesn’t know, particularly when dating. It was incredibly satisfying to see the growth his character underwent, and how much he was able to finally open up around others. Danny went through his own growth as well the closer he and Alden became.

Alden and Danny’s relationship may have been borne of Alden’s desire to become more comfortable with other guys and to gain experience with them, but as we all can see coming, that relationship grows and develops into a heck of a lot more for them both.

I really enjoyed watching as these two develop their friendship into so much more, and I’ll say it again—it makes for a very satisfying story. It is written well, and has a solid cast of supporting characters. Even though it is the second book in the series, you do not need to have read the first book before starting this one. Studious was a 4.5-star read for me, and I highly recommend it to all M/M romance fans.

This was the first audiobook I’ve listened to from this narrator, and I thought Declan Winters did a great job. The pacing was even, and the character voices were injected with just the right levels of emotion. I do wish there was more differentiation in character voices to make them more distinct from each other, but overall this was a great listen.

Nice!

This was nice but a little angsty...Awhile ago I had started to read the ebook but didn't finish. Recently I had an opportunity to listen to the audio so I jumped at the chance to listen just to finish the story. I'm glad I did. Danny and Alden was sweet but listening I remembered why I didn't finish before and it was because of all the unnecessary angst between the two. All the assumptions each made of the other was really making me frustrated. So all the inner dialogue was making me crazy but when the two got together it was great...sweet and HOT. I love Declan Winters as the narrator...he did a great job with the narration. He kept me motivated to finish...I'm glad I did...their HEA was hard won but worth it.
