- In November 2016, the US presidential election results shook Google employees. Company cofounder Sergey Brin, an immigrant and refugee, viewed Donald Trump’s victory as offensive and extremist. He went so far as to suggest intervening in search results to tackle this extremism.
- Google employees from then on strived to ensure that Trump’s movement became nothing more than a small detour from history’s progress. Google’s influence on democratic elections is far greater than that of any other company.
- In the search for a link between Democrats and Silicon Valley companies, a clear bias can be found. Big Tech companies have former Democratic operatives in important positions such as marketing, recruitment, research, and public policy.
