Publisher's summary

From the New York Times #1 bestselling author Ilona Andrews comes a fun and action-packed new adventure in the Innkeeper Chronicles! We invite you to relax, enjoy yourself, and above all, remember the one rule all visitors must obey: the humans must never know.

Life is busier than ever for Innkeeper Dina DeMille and Sean Evans. But it’s about to get even more chaotic when Sean's werewolf mentor is kidnapped. To find him, they must host an intergalactic spouse-search for one of the most powerful rulers in the Galaxy. Dina is never one to back down from a challenge. That is, if she can manage her temperamental Red Cleaver chef; the consequences of her favorite Galactic ex-tyrant's dark history; the tangled politics of an interstellar nation; and oh, yes, keep the wedding candidates from a dozen alien species from killing each other. Not to mention the Costco lady.

They say love is a battlefield; but Dina and Sean are determined to limit the casualties!

Glad for the next book in the Innkeeper Series

I really liked the storyline but I hated the interruption in between every chapter with a review of what had just happened and what might be going to happen. I just read it. I think it would work great for your fan club but please leave it out of your next book or give me the option to purchase it without it.

Loved the new Innkeeper book!

This book was nonstop action. Really enjoyed getting to see how Dina, Sean, & the rest of the group are doing. Was great getting Caldania’s story. I really loved the new narrator! It’s always hard when there is a change after having a great one. I thought she was really fantastic & did a great job with all the different voices and characters. Hope they keep using her from now on.

It can't be over!!

Second time I have listened to this series and I will probably listen to it again in the future. I love their books. So if this is the end then it's the end. But it's not finished. Too many unresolved issues. Please finish. But if you consider it done, then I have to accept that. Does not change my opinion of this series. I love the inn, the Innkeeper and the guests. Great job. Dina and Sean are some of my very favorite characters. Would be a toss up between Kate Daniels and The Innkeepers.

5 Stars for the series. I recommend.

ps: I don't write reviews. I did rate but Audible has stopped rating without a review. Only occasionally do I review a book or a series. I have rated and reviewed 2 Ilona Andrew's series recently. Great fantasy writers. Maybe I'll listen to Kate Daniels for the 3rd time. Happy reading and listening!

What no Renee Raudman?!?!

What happened to Renee Raudman? The new reader sucks! I had to stop the book and start over several times just to understand what was happening. I love all of Ilona Andrews books and enjoy the audio version very much because of the nature of my job. But because of the narrator, this is the first time I've considered sending one of their books back.

Story was great, narrator took some time to get used to

The new narrator started out a little rough. Her words were really clipped sounding at the beginning and she was a little slow. I sped up the narration to 1.1, but after a while I got used to it, and she seemed to relax a little as she told the story. The prior narrator was good but I thought her accent was a little to southern. The new narrator has the similar pitch, but she has a midwestern accent, which is more believable in my opinion. I’m from Oklahoma, and spent a lot of time in Texas. Anyway, the book was a great story. If there’s only one criticism that I have is, I really didn’t like the summaries in the the Caldonia voice at the beginning of each chapter. It did help me to find my place if I accidentally lost it because I fell asleep I often read before I go to bed, so I guess there was one plus side, but if I were the authors, I’d leave this out next time it’s not necessary, and it kinda reduces the enjoyment of a marathon reader like me. I’m looking forward to the next book. The main characters are likable sometimes funny and interesting. They have a lot of room to create new characters and interesting situations.

Wonderful Story - Best One Yet of the Series!

I Love, Love, LOVE this series. This and Harry Potter are the only book series I have read and listened to more than once. And this series even more since they branched out to the radio story style.

This book of the series was so captivating with all the characters and originality. Written so that I can't stop reading or listening. Wonderful Story!!!

The narrator is fine ... whiners gonna whine ...

This book is great, the layout is fun, the story is phenomenal, and the narrator really got her feet under her, took a good grip, and had a lot of fun with the character voices, making them as unique, and otherworldly as the story described them. Squawking space chickens, psionic elves, green teddy bear shaped sous chefs .. she handled all the voicings with ease.

Sometimes reviewers are cranky and petulant, I have to admit sometimes I've been a bit harsh in my reviews. But what we have here is a fun ride through a "talent contest" to find a wife for a galactic emperor that is taking place at Sean and Dina's Inn, they wouldn't have hosted the event, except the galactic emperor has control of a space portal than Sean and Dina want to use to rescue Sean's pseudo-grandfather werewolf who is a gun merchant on another planet, and perhaps was captured by a corrupted "Inn peacekeeper and cop" known as the ad-hal, who are being hunted by a mysterious force, ...... I mean, really, I could go on with the twists, turns, and tumbles of the plot, and really, I haven't even gotten to the fabulous candidates from all kinds of worlds that show up to participate in the search for the perfect spouse for the galactic emperor .... oh, and by the way, the woman who killed the galactic emperor's father lives at the Inn ... she's also a retired galactic imperatrix herself ... definitely not a powerless woman .... nobody in this game plan is powerless ... and everybody's got different goals for the outcome of the game. I'm just saying, this book IS FUN .....

So ignore the audiophiles who are complaining about voicing ... if you look around at any book listed on Audible, you'll probably find some audiophiles who are traumatized by that book's narration ... it seems like there is a percentage of the human population that have such refined hearing that they can be compared to those people who have incredibly refined senses of taste, ... but, if you're not one of them, and I'm thinking it's probably a blessing not to be one of them, because, really, I listen to audio books all day long and am so grateful for them, anyway, if you like a good space romp, you'll like this book.

Worth the wait, but now we wait for more again ;)

Fantastic, enjoyed it throughly (even after following it on the blog every Frinday for most of it). However, in all honesty, I don’t like the performance of the reader as much as the original.
