Another speaker, Socrates, shares what he learned from a wise woman named Diotima. According to Diotima, love is more than just physical or romantic—it is a desire to find beauty, truth, and wisdom. She explains that love helps people grow and become better by inspiring them to seek out higher, spiritual forms of beauty and goodness.
In “Symposium”, Plato explores the idea that love is a powerful force that motivates people to improve themselves and strive for deeper understanding and fulfillment, making it not just about relationships but also about personal and spiritual growth.
