Publisher's summary

Some people might say Eldership doesn't work. I respond "you're right." How can it work when we appoint Elders who are not spiritually qualified? Eldership cannot work unless we follow God's manual for what constitutes a qualified Elder. When we come to the subject of church Elders, the New Testament is clear about the qualifications. The New Testament gives more detailed instructions on Elders' mandatory qualifications than any other aspect, including their calling and ministry. God has placed a standard for those in pastoral oversight because not just anyone can be an Elder.

In 1 Timothy and Titus, the apostle Paul set forth several characteristics that men must possess to serve as Pastors, Elders, Overseers, or Shepherds. In “The 24 Qualifications Of An Elder,” we explore the essential requirements for Eldership according to God who calls the Elder, Jesus who gives the Elders to His church, and the Holy Spirit, who anoints and empowers the Elders.

Reads like a passage from Naves Topical Bible. No exposition.

If you're looking for a topical Bible study thoughtfully arranged into categories this book is for you. But if you're looking for any meaningful commentary or explanation, you'd better keep looking. This book read a more like a passage from Naves Topical Bible thank it does an actual exposition of the Word.

On another note, it was very interesting to hear a printed book read aloud by a computer program. It came through really clearly and particularly, with the exception of quoting the Bible references, which were consistently choppy and abrupt.
