Acerca de esta escucha
At a young age, Nigel Bennett was shocked to witness, firsthand, the real impact of oil spills on our natural world.
After almost being shot down by FARC guerrillas on the Venezuela-Colombia border and being forced to escape Egypt while working for his father's oil spill contingency planning company, he decided to break away and start Aqua-Guard Spill Response.
Aqua-Guard now provides equipment and services that protect water, the planet's most precious resource, in 104 countries.
Take That Leap recounts Nigel's unanticipated adventures as an entrepreneur, emerging philanthropist, and avid outdoorsman. Get inside his head as he negotiates deals with the big boys and wrestles with the myths surrounding work-life balance and being an entrepreneur. Be there with him through the crazy challenges of simultaneously launching a start-up and a family all the way through to the even zanier challenges of becoming a steward of Pachamama (Mother Nature).
Follow this daredevil as he tests his limits in extreme outdoor adventures, builds homes for the homeless with his wife and children, and discovers his big "why?" with the indigenous people of the Amazon.
With this audiobook, you will receive a bonus interview with Nigel that is not included in the original book.

Few novels have had as profound an impact on American culture as On the Road. Pulsating with the rhythms of 1950s underground America, jazz, sex, illicit drugs, and the mystery and promise of the open road, Kerouac’s classic novel of freedom and longing defined what it meant to be “beat” and has inspired generations of writers, musicians, artists, poets, and seekers who cite their discovery of the book as the event that “set them free”.

Historia
At the beginning of his memoir Life Lived Wild: Adventures at the Edge of the Map, Rick Ridgeway tells us that if you add up all his many expeditions, he’s spent over five years of his life sleeping in tents: “And most of that in small tents pitched in the world’s most remote regions.” It’s not a boast so much as an explanation. Whether at elevation or raising a family back at sea level, those years taught him, he writes, “to distinguish matters of consequence from matters of inconsequence.” He leaves it to his listeners to do the final sort of which is which.

Three years later he set out into the world on his bike again, this time searching for truth on his own terms in a world that had become strangled by a climate of fear.

What does it take to be one of the world's best high-altitude mountain climbers? A lot of fundraising; traveling in some of the world's most dangerous countries; enduring cold bivouacs, searing lungs, and a cloudy mind when you can least afford one. It means learning the hard lessons the mountains teach. It was a historic 'first descent' from the true source in the highlands of Zambia. Just short of 3,000 miles long, the Congo River is the eighth longest in the world and the deepest river in the world, with a flow rate second only to the Amazon. Historia
Steve House built his reputation on ascents throughout the Alps, Canada, Alaska, the Karakoram, and the Himalaya that have expanded possibilities of style, speed, and difficulty.

Historia
Canoeing the Congo narrates the journey of Phil Harwood, who undertook an epic five-month solo attempt to canoe the Congo River in war-torn Central Africa. It was a historic 'first descent' from the true source in the highlands of Zambia. Just short of 3,000 miles long, the Congo River is the eighth longest in the world and the deepest river in the world, with a flow rate second only to the Amazon. Along the way, Phil encountered numerous waterfalls, huge rapids, man-eating crocodiles, hippos, aggressive snakes...

For most of us, traveling means visiting the most beautiful places on Earth - Paris, the Taj Mahal, the Grand Canyon. It’s rare to book a plane ticket to visit the lifeless moonscape of Canada’s oil sand strip mines, or to seek out the Chinese city of Linfen, legendary as the most polluted in the world. But in Visit Sunny Chernobyl, Andrew Blackwell embraces a different kind of travel, taking a jaunt through the most gruesomely polluted places on Earth.

Historia
Human flight is one of the last great challenges on Earth. Not like how the Wright brothers flew, but how we fly in our dreams. This is the goal of the Wingsuit Landing Project: to soar through the sky at speeds up to one hundred miles per hour and to land without the aid of a parachute. This project is the creation of 37-year-old Jeb Corliss, Jr., a Southern Californian who seeks to emulate a mode of flight more like a flying squirrel than bird or plane.

Historia
Often called "Accident Park", "Class Action Park", or "Traction Park", Action Park was an American icon. Entertaining more than a million people a year in the 1980s, the New Jersey-based amusement playland placed no limits on danger or fun, a monument to the anything-goes spirit of the era that left guests in control of their own adventures - sometimes with tragic results. Action Park is the first-ever unvarnished look at the history of this DIY Disneyland, as seen through the eyes of Andy Mulvihill, the son of the park's idiosyncratic founder, Gene Mulvihill.

Inspiring, educational, and actionable
Friends had told me about the author but they only scratched the surface on the amazing story that Nigel Bennett has lived and shares in TAKE THAT LEAP. It was an inspiring, educational, and actionable book. I most highly recommend it to other business owners, entrepreneurs, and those struggling in this modern world.

Awesome narration of an outstanding book.
This is the second time that I have experienced Nigel Bennett’s story, first by reading it and second by listening to his narration. I totally enjoyed reading about his many adventures as an entrepreneur, Family leader and world role model. As much as I enjoyed reading his book, I highly recommended listening to the audio version (in addition to reading his book) to get a more enhanced sense of the atmosphere and emotions that he experienced while on his journey. Great take always, Great job and thank you Nigel Bennett. Nick T

Adventure, heart and wisdom from a life well-lived
There is something mesmerizing hearing Nigel recount his life’s adventure, as his intonations reveal his deeper feelings.
Full of challenges, introspection, and fun, this story is at the intersection of the great adventure novels: Into Thin Air, On The Road, and Around the World in 80 days.
This book is a great reminder to breath and listen before jumping into the unknown.
