About this listen

Her face blisters when she cries, and fire acts erratically around her. Traea knows that running away from Haven will make her a fugitive in the eyes of the Guard, but her desire to find out why she is cursed is something she is willing to risk her life for. Different Take on the supernatural

Traea has an affinity to fire. She has been locked away and does not know what her gift is. But as she takes this journey of discovery she is finding out what she can do and what she is. she also discovers that someone wants her dead. The narrator was good and made the story come to life. I was given this book via audiobook boom.

Nice story, looking forward for the follow up!

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I found the start a bit boring and nearly abandoned during the runaway. After that, the story really picked up and I was eager to listen to the end.

Would you recommend The Birthright of Traea Quinne to your friends? Why or why not?

I would recommend this book to friends who enjoy fantasy stories. To others, probably not.

What three words best describe Genevieve Sibayan’s voice?

Annoying during dialogue.

Could you see The Birthright of Traea Quinne being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

I think the book is truly too short to be adapted into a series. Though, maybe with the following books it will be more suited.

Any additional comments?

Looking forward to listening to the rest of the series.

A girl who's tears burn!

What did you like best about The Birthright of Traea Quinne? What did you like least?

This was a very interesting listen. I liked the idea of using the magic connection with burning tears. Traea is a girl that has magic in her blood and is trying to learn how to use and control the magic inside her.

Would you recommend The Birthright of Traea Quinne to your friends? Why or why not?

I would recommend this to others. It was a well thought out and enjoyable read. Traea had a diffinate magical connection to fire and when she gets very emotional or very scared, it seem to come out of her.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Genevieve Sibayan?

Yes, she did a very good job. Her voice was enjoyable to listen to.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

I would. The story was about a girl who was very mistreated in her youth. How she escapes from the situation and how she tries to live her life after.

The Birthright of Traea Quinn – a new series by Mia Harlow and narrated by Genevieve Sibayan
“I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.”
Written in the first person the story is full of emotion and reflections from a young women coming of age. Her struggles and triumphs through her journey twist and turn keeping your interest high. My one hope for future books in the series would be to further develop the characters who will become her companions and give more depth to enrich her story.
The dystopian world Traea Quin was born into rages with the constant struggle blending a past history of magic, wars, and prejudice. Traea lives in an orphanage called Haven. Her tears burn her face, fire holds a special fascination for her, yet she believes she is cursed. No one has told her of her heritage and why these strange things seem to be developing with so much intensity as she grows. She chooses to escape from Haven and search for her answers. A vicious Guard pursues her. She flees and finds more support and begins to learn answers about her past and future. Rather than be crushed by overwhelming odds Traea dares to escape and search for answers to her growing questions about who she is and why, and find a new life. Her journey teaches her she has more strength than she dreamed and life was going to unfold into new challenges as she learns to embrace destiny.
Ginevieve Sibayan does an excellent job narrating the story. Her voice and inflections make the character real. Her voice is pleasant to listen.
I look forward to future stories. I would suggest this book as a YA/ adult

Good Start

Any additional comments?

Good start to a series. The narration really carries the story, Sibayan is really good. She conveys emotion exceptionally well. The story is good, but I feel as if the author missed several opportunities to create a more well rounded and expanded story. The overall story is intriguing with an interesting main character. Very interested to see how the author crafts the next installment.
