"The Book Club Hotel is a gift...the perfect escape-and-find-yourself novel."—Susan Wiggs, New York Times bestselling author

This summer, let USA Today bestselling author Sarah Morgan transport you with another heartfelt exploration of change, the power of books to heal, and the enduring strength of female friendship. Perfect for fans of Emily Henry and Jennifer Weiner.

With its historic charm and picture-perfect library, the Maple Sugar Inn is considered the ultimate vacation destination. But widowed far too young, and exhausted from juggling the hotel with being a dedicated single mom, Hattie Coleman dreams only of making it through each day.

When Erica, Claudia and Anna—lifelong friends who seem to have it all—check in for a girlfriends’ book club holiday, it changes everything. Their close friendship and shared love of books have carried them through life's ups and downs. But Hattie can see they're also packing some major emotional baggage, and nothing prepares her for how deeply her own story is about to become entwined in theirs.

In the span of a week, can these four women come together to improve each other’s lives and make this the start of a whole new chapter?

Find out what happens when a career-driven woman exchanges her briefcase for a Christmas-kissed cottage in USA Today bestselling author Sarah Morgan's heartwarming story, The Holiday Cottage!

The book equivalent of a warm hug

The Book Club Hotel by Sarah Morgan was such a treat. You follow four different perspectives throughout the novel with alternating chapters for each character:
Hattie: a recent widow and single mom who owns the Maple Sugar Inn
and three life-long friends and members of a book club:
Erica: A successful businesswoman who feels that something is missing from her life.
Claudia: A sous chef who was recently fired from her job and dumped by her cheating boyfriend.
Anna: A proud mom and housewife who feels directionless now that her twins are on the eve of going off to college.

For readers who are intimidated or put off by multiple perspectives, I will say that Sarah Morgan does a good job of making each character distinct with her own values and challenges. I really liked each character and felt invested in their personal journeys. I also appreciated that, though there is romance in this novel, the women take the central focus here. The Book Club Hotel is ultimately about a group of women approaching middle age and wondering where the next chapter of their life will lead them.

Most of The Book Club Hotel takes place before Christmas, but this is definitely a holiday novel with plenty of Christmas atmosphere.

Cute feel good story

I felt like I was watching a Christmas hallmark movie. The ending was a bit predictable. Not super thought provoking but great little book to sit by the Christmas tree during December.

This book was chosen for our monthly bookclub and it was perfect for the occasion

Life is about change

This is an interesting book with well-developed characters and a plot that allows the reader to reflect on the characters as well as the changes in their life course. Transitions are inevitable. How we recognize them is unique. Thought this book allowed the reader to be introspective as well. I wish this hotel really existed. I would definitely book a visit!
