About this listen

Among the first seven scrolls discovered in the caves of Qumran at the Dead Sea is a scroll given the name "The Book of Giants". It is thought to have been based on the Book of Enoch, a pseudepigraphical Jewish work from the third century BCE. The Book of Giants, like the Book of Enoch, concerns itself with the Nephilim, which are the offspring of fallen angels, who are called the Watchers. Two main versions of the text exist. The Dead Sea version is written in Aramaic. Another version has been found written in middle Persian, adapted from the Aramaic to fit into the Manichean religion. Both versions will be examined. Following theories speculating that the Book of Giants was once part of the Book of Enoch, we will attempt to place the two texts back together to render the complete story of the Watchers and the Nephilim. We will discover the history and contributions of these ancient scrolls and look carefully at their content and meaning. Throughout the combined texts of the Book of Giants and the Book of Enoch we will examine all the biblical and apocryphal references and parallels within the text. The result is an in-depth and panoramic view of the Angels, the Watchers, and the Nephilim, and how one of the giants of the Nephilim race may have survived the flood intended to cleanse the Earth of their horror.

poor audio production makes this hard 2 recommend.

The text repeats "codecs corrupted," every few seconds in an echo, makes it unbearable torture. The amount of material missing makes you wonder why even bother creating an audio version of this book. This echo effect is way overused throughout the reading and really detracted from the content inside. The rest of the content is somewhat interesting though.

An Exceptional Resource Book for all Who Want Biblical History and Future Knowledge

I had been looking for years for something more on the giants I read about in the OT it is great to find such a book with a bonus of Enoch. We got a glimpse of each in the OT Biblewhich leaves you needing to know more. This book along with th book of "Enoch" answers all remaining questions.

The narrator

This book has a lot of information, but the narrator's voice is dry. Also at the start of each chapter, it echoes the title. bi won't finish this book.

Disappointed with the Narration

Overall, the text and story line is good. It's not that, it's the boring & lagging presentation by the narrator. As a result, this makes listening to the book very difficult and thus defeats the very purpose of an audio book- listening with enjoyment. I give this a one star for performance.

Great information to help fill in many gaps

I love that we have access to this writting(s), it is a blessing!

The voice is difficult to listen to so focus on the stories being told rather than the way it was produced!

Read the book

The content is great but the narrator didn't do that great of a job. It also sounded as if while he was reading that there sentence parts that were omitted from the story which made it hard to listen. I would definitely listen to this book again if it was narrated by another person. His voice was a bit slow during parts of the audiobook which made it hard to listen to.

Very well written

I do enjoy the Ethiopian book of Enoch. I found several of the other transcripts to be to mythological and fantasy without foundation. Still good reading and historical folk lures.

Listening quality

There is an echo in this book that makes it difficult to listen to. Makes it overdramatic and hard to focus.
