About this listen

He is a man with an unknown past and an uncertain future. A man dragged from the sea riddled with bullets, his face altered by plastic surgery—a man bearing the dubious identity of Jason Bourne. Now he is running for his life, the target of professional assassins, at the center of a maddening, deadly puzzle.

Who is Jason Bourne? To answer that question, he must find the secret buried deep in his own past. And the only one who can help him is a beautiful stranger—the woman who once would do anything to escape him. Plus, hear a preview of Ludlum's riveting thriller The Bourne Ultimatum.

Do Not Buy

The production of this book feels like a 1970’s movie. Odd music and timing with the narration. The reader is too low keyed for a book like this.

Out of date

This story line was probably ok 20 years ago but I don’t feel like it aged well.

Abridged Stinks

Why isn't there an unabridged version available? I got lost several times while listening to this.

Too much music

Way too much background music. I found it extremely distracting when trying to listen to the narrator. I read this book years ago, and I found it to be one of my favorites, but this adaptation is terrible. So sad

Waste of time.

BORING! narrator slurred his words trying to add drama & a "noir" taste. Try a bit harder to differentiate the characters voice's and manner of speaking.
After 2/3 of the book, I didn't want to finish it.

Disappointed

Having read “The Bourne Identity” as written by Robert Ludlum a few times, I find this audio version very disappointing. So many key passages of the novel were left out. The only saving grace is the fantastic performance by the narrator, Darren McGavin.

Background music took away from the reading.

Great story and reading was good.
Back ground music took away from the reading too much.
