Publisher's summary

Times are changing in Pickax, and it all makes for some newsworthy notes for the "Qwill Pen". A new senior center is in the works, and a frisky production of Cats is set to delight Moose County residents, human and feline alike. Polly Duncan is off to Paris, momentarily leaving Qwill without a companion for his apple-barn concerts, and The Librarians Who Lunch are getting read to put on a show of their spectacular Art Hats to help unite Pickax with its Lockmaster County neighbors.

Not to mention the conversation of the late Nathan Ledfield's mansion into a charitable museum! Mr. Ledfield's treasures are being sold off to benefit needy children, and the town is abuzz with excitement - that is, until a mysterious death from a bee sting leaves everyone but Cool Koko in a state of confusion.

Is it because he has 60 whiskers as Qwill suspects, or because Koko knows that the mysterious death was no accident?

poorly written

Not up to the normal level of Lilian Jackson Braun's work. Story is weak and broken.

Another wonderful book by Lilian Jackson Braun

What made the experience of listening to The Cat Who Had 60 Whiskers the most enjoyable?

Just to see what the koko was going to discover and show Mr. Q.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Ko Ko because he is the smart cat who really makes these books so enjoyable.

Which character – as performed by George Guidall – was your favorite?

Love listening to George Guidall and the many charactor voices he gives. I believe Chief Brody would be one of my favorite.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Does he really have 60 whiskers?

Any additional comments?

I like Miss Brauns books because anyone can read or listen to them with no foul language. It is a sad thing that there will be no more books or stories her. May she rest in peace.

This one was different.

I kept putting off listening to it because I had a bad feeling about this book. it seemed rushed and I am disappointed at how some things turned out. 'nuff said.

Great for cat lovers

This series takes you away to visit somewhere else. The main character makes you wish he could be your leading man.

The quiet humor & interesting banter calm the mind & refresh. The soul. Not too many belly laughs; but who needs them when your having fun.

A sad ending...

if you have read every other book of this series, you will feel cheated. I felt cheated. I know she wanted to do one more but alas this one ended her beautiful reign. you can tell the lady is slipping, she says things that have been told differently in other books, like why Dennis killed himself in the barn or the fact that qwill did meet Shirley before ( The cat who knew a cardinal). And what the eff she has Polly leaving like that, I know she put in her note that she can buy new stuff when she gets back in 3 years but she sent her away like that?? leaving her cats?? I was sad at the end of this book. it was poorly written and a horrible end for a wonderful series.

A fluffy, pleasant listen.

The mystery is pretty light, even by Braun's standards, but the narrator, George Guidall, has such a pleasant voice that is perfect for a rush-hour commute.

The narrator has a soothing voice.

The story is entertaining and held my interest throughout. The author knows how to captivate an audience, and the narrator makes it flow beautifully.
