Publisher's summary

The road to immortality is a long one.

With the empire secure, Otto turns his focus west.

The first piece of the Immortality Engine lies across the ocean in Lord Colt’s Workshop.

Complicating Otto’s mission, Eddred of Markane is already in Colt’s Land, trying to persuade them to help him defeat the empire.

Can Otto navigate a web of politics and intrigue unlike anything he’s ever encountered?

Or, will his mission fail before he even reaches Colt’s workshop?

Excellent Anti-hero

If you're looking for some Captain America/superman style boyscout look elsewhere. Otto makes no apologies for power and pulls no punches. Overall he has a kind heart but it does not get the better of him. Individuals like this shaped history the world we live in today. Why we kid ourselves with notions that kindness, sensitivity, and equally are markers of efficient leadership is beyond me. Otto is realistic and pragmatic and his character is full of depth and growth. Great writing.

another good book in the series

lots of twists and turns with further character development of mostly reoccurring characters. different perspectives of Good and evil and how some people can be perceived as good and some can be perceived as evil and depending on what prospective they have the view each other as either good or evil. the story narration and audiobook were done well.

Wow, nice story

I like the story. There is plenty of adventure and the progression is believable. Immersion is solid and makes for a lot of fun for fans for magic. I didn't hear the stutters or gaps like some of the reviews claimed. It is a good story and I have heard every book in this series so enjoy. I await the next book to see what happens.

Not for me I guess

I tried but couldn’t get into this one. The narrator was horrible. Made the characters feel even more bland
