Story
There is now no doubt that not only is Waiting for Godot the outstanding play of the 20th century, but it is also Samuel Beckett's masterpiece. Yet it is both a popular text to be studied at school and an enigma. The scene is a country road. There is a solitary tree. It is evening. Two tramp-like figures, Vladimir and Estragon, exchange words. Pull off boots. Munch a root vegetable. Two other curious characters enter. And a boy. Time passes. It is all strange yet familiar.

Story
During the bleak winter of 1692 in the rigid Puritan community of Salem Village, Massachusetts, a group of young girls began experiencing violent fits, allegedly tormented by Satan and the witches who worshipped him. From the girls' initial denouncing of an Indian slave, the accusations soon multiplied. In less than two years, 19 men and women were hanged, one was pressed to death, and over a hundred others were imprisoned and impoverished. This evenhanded and now-classic history illuminates the horrifying episode with visceral clarity.

Story
This timeless comedy of manners is considered one of Molière's most probing and mature works. While it's still an exemplar of 17th century farce, Molière went beyond his usual comic inventiveness to create a world of rich, complex characters, especially in the cynical title character Alceste, played here by the Tony Award-winning actor Brian Bedford.

Story
Abraham Lincoln is the most beloved of all US presidents. He freed the slaves, gave the world some of its most beautiful phrases, and redefined the meaning of America. He did all of this with wisdom, compassion, and wit. Yet, throughout his life, Lincoln fought with God. In his early years in Illinois, he rejected even the existence of God and became the village atheist. In time, this changed but still he wrestled with the truth of the Bible, preachers, doctrines, the will of God, the providence of God, and then, finally, God’s purposes in the Civil War.

Part biography, part cultural history, The Creation of Anne Boleyn is a fascinating reconstruction of Anne’s life and an illuminating look at her afterlife in the popular imagination. Why is Anne so compelling? Why has she inspired such extreme reactions? What did she really look like? Was she the flaxen-haired martyr of Romantic paintings or the raven-haired seductress of twenty-first-century portrayals? (Answer: Neither.) And perhaps the most provocative questions concern Anne’s death more than her life.

Story
Gripped by the tale of a Messiah whose blood we drink and body we eat, the genre-defying author Emmanuel Carrère revisits the story of the early Church in his latest work. With an idiosyncratic and at times iconoclastic take on the charms and foibles of the Church fathers, Carrère ferries listeners through his "doors" into the biblical narrative. Once inside, he follows the ragtag group of early Christians through the tumultuous days of the faith's founding.

From the girls' initial denouncing of an Indian slave, the accusations soon multiplied. In less than two years, 19 men and women were hanged, one was pressed to death, and over a hundred others were imprisoned and impoverished. You must read the book with it or you will miss key parts.
They should have stuck strictly to the script. I had to pause the audio numerous times and read parts that were left out. The acting is good and hearing it really does help, but for a student with an IEP it could be hard for them to follow without the book and someone helping them. I hate to complain given that the book is well acted out and it certainly is better to hear it verses simply reading it alone. If this is being used for an English class, then make sure you have the book in front of you. Pause where needed to understand what’s left out. Overall I am pleased that Audible had it available despite the discrepancies.

Bravo to cast!
This was a story that my children were required to read as a junior in high school. not one that i would actually be drawn to for a reading, or them. I wanted to read what they were reading and thought to find an audible version that followed their text in the book they read. I wanted something that would bring this story to life for them to have a better understanding of the story. When I saw the Richard Dreyfus was performing as Hale, I was drawn to this version right away.
Listening to this story allowed us to feel as if we were watching this in love action. Hearing the characters portrayed by various actors truly delivers this book and the story it’s telling.

sex scandal
I wish there were a longer form with an ensemble cast. This does not have close to all of the details.
Some people are caught dancing in the woods? A wedding dance?
When the circumstances of the case which focused on John W Proctor's adultery with Abby Miller, someone asked, how'd he do it? This relationship did not come to light until she was 18. The implication with her request to sweat behind his home is that this relationship had been going on for years.
Daniel Webster, the defense attorney, asks John Proctor about a member of the congregation that he didn't baptize, fleetingly.
This is the date that I'd say America went wrong. The one member of the congregation led to narcolyptic sextitism in the community.
Someone apparently tried to marry the boy. It failed.
For some years apparently Abigail Williams was porking John W Proctor.
Then they let the details come to light when she turned 18.
Circumstances from the movie like a cauldron with a dead frog are not in this brief version.
