Resumen del Editor

Fifteen-year-old Christopher Boone has Asperger's Syndrome, a condition similar to autism. He doesn't like to be touched or meet new people, he cannot make small talk, and he hates the colors brown and yellow. He is a math whiz with a very logical brain who loves solving puzzles that have definite answers.

One night, he observes that the neighbor's dog has been killed, since it is not moving and has a large garden fork stuck in its body. Christopher knows this is wrong. He has never left his street on his own before, but now he'll have to in order to find out who killed the dog. What he discovers will shake the very foundation of his perfectly ordered life.

Critically acclaimed author Mark Haddon, a two-time BAFTA winner, crafts a stunning masterpiece that is funny, honest, and incredibly moving.

Editorial Review

Mark Haddon’s engrossing and intensely human novel about an autistic boy investigating the murder of a neighbor’s dog remains one of my favorite feats of storytelling. And I consider myself especially fortunate to have experienced it for the first time in audio. Award-winning narrator Jeff Woodman masterfully captures Christopher’s youth, intelligence and disarming directness, employing a detached delivery that conveys his condition while hinting at a rich emotional life that lays just underneath. It’s a beautifully nuanced performance that’s authentic, effortless, and deeply affecting. —Reid., Audible Editor

An Intense Listen into the World of Being Different

A very unusual read. At times I cried with tears streaming down my face. Then I laughed out loud. This is a highly touching story that gives insight into the world of being different from others. It is extremely thought provoking and well worth the time to experience it.

Can't praise this highly enough. Awesome

Any additional comments?

Written in the voice of a teenager with high level autism spectrum disorder (formerly known as Asperger's Syndrome), this amazing book captures the thinking process and sentence structure so well that it is spot on.

I am a psychiatrist as well as an avid reader. The merger of a mystery story, a psychological portrait, and a moral tale was carried out so well that I use this story in some of the seminars I teach. Yet for those who read it solely for entertainment will also find it truly remarkable.

Special congratulations go to Jeff Woodman whose narration was outstanding.

great story, interesting perspective

I loved this story. Christopher's world is an interesting place. It was such a wonderful way to learn how those who live in their own minds navigate the world with, and without grace, and manage to learn from those they trust to survive a life of contradictions.

Great Reading of This Book!

Wow wow wow, the narration on this is one of my biggest takeaways. Jeff Woodman does a great job of reading in Christopher's unique voice. The story was fantastic, too. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this and would recommend it - especially for someone looking for a bit of a quicker read!

A great first audiobook

What made the experience of listening to The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time the most enjoyable?

The narrator really brought life to the character of Christopher Boone. As Mr. Woodman read the book, I could picture Christopher in my mind, saying the things that Mr. Woodman read. Mr. Woodman carried the book, making it interesting from beginning to end.

What did you like best about this story?

The story is told from the point of a view of an autistic child. The reader gets a pretty good look at how wonderful (and quirky) these children/adults are. Sometimes I wish I were as observant and clever as Christopher is.

Which scene was your favorite?

Christopher describing his experience in the train station.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes, when Christopher and his father reunited at the end of the book.

Any additional comments?

A wonderful, engrossing first audio book. I was disappointed when it ended.

A curious story

I listened to the book in preparation for seeing it on stage and it intrigues me think how they stage it. It's an engaging story, well told.

An intriguing tale

I found this book to be engrossing, especially in its characterization of an (apparently) autistic boy. The author occasionally wanders a bit too far into esoteric detail, but this is forgivable. The narrator is not outstanding, but is "transparent" which is the next best thing in my opinion.
