Soon to be a major motion picture starring Matthew McConaughey and Idris Elba!

In this second volume, Roland encounters three mysterious doorways on a deserted beach along the Western Sea. Each one enters into a different person's life in New York - here, he joins forces with the defiant young Eddie Dean and with the beautiful, brilliant, and brave Odetta Holmes in a savage struggle against underworld evil and otherworldly enemies. They also become the companions, forming a ka-tet, who will assist him on his quest to save the Dark Tower.

Critic reviews

"King is a master at creating living, breathing, believable characters." ( Baltimore Sun)

This is the best audio book I've ever listened to

The narrator is top notch, and the story is thrilling and compelling. The author has great characterization and the narrator adds volumes with his acting. It captivated me, I listened whenever I could.

Calling all Gunslingers!

This is Part II of Steven King's Dark Tower series, in which Roland gets some new traveling companions. I won't give away any major spoilers, but this is where Roland's journey get significantly weirder.

As for the narration, I was initially concerned about Frank Muller taking over, but by the end I was really enjoying him. Very recommended!

Amazing Narration

If I could give Frank Muller, the narrator, more stars, I would. He was amazing. The way he switched from each narrative voice, sometimes mid-sentence, was pure magic. Several times I found myself playing back a passage, not because of what Stephen King wrote (which is also fantastic, by the way), but because of the way Muller performed it. I will definitely be looking out for more books read by this guy!
